This wayspot was approved on May 5th, as shown in the image above, but was subsequently deleted. Probably because there was a suspicious player around, I think it was due to that person. After that, I tried to apply to the wayfarer several times, but it was rejected on the grounds that everything was not safe. This judgment is really unfair, and in fact, this wayspot exists as shown in the image above, and it is safe because it is not on the road. And this wayspot was not mass-produced. I think this manhole was probably rejected because it looks like it’s on the road in street view on Google Maps because of the blur of the image. I think it is an unfair reason to delete wayspot for the above reasons. Please reconsider restoring this wayspot.
I agree, it does look safe, however I also think the decision to remove it was correct. A manhole is just street infrastructure, and should not have been approved in the first place, as it is not a great place to explore, be social or exercise.
Even if a nomination fails to meet eligibility criteria, the reason for rejection should still be communicated accurately.
As seen in staff responses stating only “we stand by our decision to retire this Wayspot” without detailing any criteria, the lack of official reasoning leaves submitters with no clear answer.
When generic rejection reasons like “Pedestrian Access / Safety” are selected by mistake during resubmissions, applicants end up wasting endless effort trying to fix a non-existent safety issue.
Since Wayfarer never sends removal notices with specific reasons, the OP’s assumption that it was deleted for safety concerns is just a guess based on subsequent rejection emails. Providing a clear explanation of the actual decision—whether it is a lack of eligibility or another factor—is the only way to make these processes a constructive learning experience for the submitter.
Also, staff have mentioned before, you cannot appeal an appeal (the only exceptions we have seen, were very obvious mistakes, that’s not the case this time)
Resubmitting is also a bad idea, so in this case, I suggest to move on, and try to find something else.
