Title of Nomination: Historischer Wasser-Infrastrukturpunkt / Grenzstein am R6
Location: 50.558596, 8.894637
City / Country: Reiskirchen, Germany

Description:
This historic relic on the edge of the Hessenradweg R6 cycle path marks an old junction of the local water supply and serves as a historic boundary stone (Grenzstein). The stone with embedded metal fittings has served as an orientation point for hikers and cyclists heading towards Nieder-Bessingen for decades.

Supplemental Information:
This is a permanent, historic boundary stone and infrastructure object firmly anchored in the ground. It is located directly along the official long-distance cycle path R6 and is safely accessible on foot. As a local historic remnant known as a landmark for over 25 years, it was submitted under the exploration criterion.

Location / Street View Note:
Please note that official Google Street View coverage ends exactly at these coordinates, as visible in photo 3. The object is located right at the boundary where the Street View recording stopped, which is why location verification is best done via satellite view and the provided contextual photos.

Rejection Reason:
Rejected by community / system filter.

Question to the Community:
My nomination for this historic water infrastructure point and boundary stone along the R6 cycle route was rejected. I would appreciate feedback on whether historic boundary markers or functional utility remnants like this can qualify under Wayfarer criteria if they lack an official informational plaque, or if this type of object is strictly ineligible.

Same as your other post, nothing here encourages the 3 main criteria.

People could start there exercise from anywhere.

Unless there was an official marker to start a measures distance etc this is not eligible.

Thanks again for all the clear feedback!

It’s definitely a bit disappointing to hear, as all three of these nominations are right here in my immediate neighborhood and represent points I personally researched and put a lot of time and effort into. I wanted to make sure that anyone reading this—including Niantic staff if they stop by—knows these weren’t random submissions, but real, authentic local spots I genuinely cared about bringing into the game.

Even though these specific locations don’t align with the strict criteria, I really appreciate the community taking the time to explain everything so thoroughly. I’ll take these lessons learned and focus my efforts on finding eligible official POIs in my area next!

If you would like suggestions please create another post.

State the general location ( **DO NOT USE YOUR HOME ADDRESS** ) and people will take a look around the maps.

Good luck.

That won’t work much because their location is a fully residential area at a field - these areas in Germany have no other developments other than trails in the vicinity, like.the existing Wayspots around show, and few local.spaces that fulfill the criteria.

There are some sporting and playgrounds in the Freibad but that’s probably closed now that the season ended.
