Additional Information (if any)
The basketball court was removed and replaced by a pickleball court.
Interesting situation.
Bing aerial shows the basketball court
Google aerial shows the pickleball court
It is clearly exactly the same sports court in exactly the same location. The concrete pad has not moved, been extended or changed in any way. All that has happened is that the basketball hoops have been removed and pickleball lines painted on.
Would it count as repurposing to rename this to “Leith Park Picketball Court” and take a new photo?
Indeed, and we have been adviced that the proper way is to remove and resubmit, unless it is a mural.
Bing aerial is out of date. It is definitely a pickleball court now, because I was there on Sunday. I took a photo of the pickleball court and submitted it & put it on hold and will release it once the basketball court is removed. I am not going to post that photo here to avoid it becoming a “third party photo”. I did include that photo in my supporting information for the removal.
As pokemaster4u2 said, we were told to not repurpose.
I agree it is a pickleball court. I am genuinely curious if this would be repurposing. I don’t understand why murals and only murals are immune. I would expect to be a principle that murals follow, not a bespoke rule.
Repurposing isn’t allowed because there’s no check if the new POI is still eligible. BUT there are certain POI categories that are 99.99% eligible – murals, playgrounds, sport grounds, etc. Out of those pretty much only murals would get replaced by a new one. I believe this is why only murals are exempt.
Utility Artboxes getting repainted annually is not unheard of.
Parks get refurbished less often.
Thanks for the appeal, @Aquablast64! We gave this a second look and decided to retire the Wayspot in question.
