Dear Wayfarer Team,

I would like to formally appeal the rejection of my removal report concerning the Wayspot “Gedenkstein Projensdorf” in Kiel, Germany (54.355081, 10.106770).

 ![Screenshot_20261027_140954_Google](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/wayfarer/original/3X/4/5/459bbcc2fc63822670c2de9dac31f58b4bd4ae37.jpeg)

After examining the actual object, its surroundings, the cadastral map and additional supporting evidence, I believe that this Wayspot requires reconsideration.

My concerns are based on the following points:

1. The object is not a memorial stone

Despite its title, “Gedenkstein Projensdorf” (Memorial Stone Projensdorf), the object is not identifiable as a memorial or historical monument.

The original photograph clearly shows two inscriptions:

109 – the house number BANDITT – a private surname

 ![file_00000000c1b081f4bff87e2a67ba9e70](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/wayfarer/original/3X/5/1/511e7259cd3a31734945480d8baa448f06fa3910.jpeg)

The number corresponds to the residential address Steenbeker Weg 109, Kiel.

 ![Screenshot_20261027_142920_Maps](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/wayfarer/original/3X/3/8/382341cec6ff4d46aa6c5ab6012e883b3851aff5.jpeg)

There is no visible commemorative inscription, historical date, dedication or reference to any person or event being commemorated.

The object appears to serve as a personalized residential address marker rather than a public memorial.

Consequently, the Wayspot’s title and description appear to misrepresent the object’s actual purpose and suggest commemorative significance that has not been established.

1. Additional evidence from a public telephone directory

A publicly available entry in the German telephone directory Das Telefonbuch ([dastelefonbuch.de](http://dastelefonbuch.de)) provides additional corroboration of the connection between the surname on the stone and the residential address.

A redacted screenshot is provided as supporting evidence. Personal contact information, including first names and telephone numbers, has been concealed.

 ![Screenshot_20261027_135824_Chrome](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/wayfarer/original/3X/2/1/21bd10cfa51f16e0d8963e4703d472f58220556d.jpeg)

This evidence further supports the interpretation that the stone is a private residential name and address marker rather than a commemorative monument.

1. Incorrect Wayspot location

The existing Wayspot marker is positioned closer to the public road than the physical object.

The actual stone is located immediately beside the residential driveway, at the position marked with a white dot on the attached map.

 ![Screenshot_20261027_120023_Samsung Browser](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/wayfarer/original/3X/a/b/ab4e2417c4585e56a301d09e11607bd5a65f9f27.jpeg)

The current Wayspot position therefore does not accurately represent the object’s physical location.

I respectfully ask that the actual location be assessed rather than relying exclusively on the existing Wayspot coordinates.

1. Private residential property concerns

The stone is situated on the triangular cadastral parcel 180/2, directly adjacent to residential parcel 199/6.

 ![file_00000000b2948246a88844d74c7eb6f2](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/wayfarer/original/3X/a/f/affeb9972970b6d85a4249513766e8d325aa77a9.jpeg)

Although these parcels are separately registered in the cadastral map, the stone’s residential inscription, location beside the driveway and landscaped surroundings strongly suggest that the triangular area is associated with the neighboring single-family residence.

I therefore request verification of whether parcel 180/2 forms part of the private single-family residential premises.

Under the Wayfarer eligibility criteria, objects located on private single-family residential property, including its boundaries, are ineligible even if they are visible or accessible from a public street.

1. Privacy concerns

The Wayspot photograph prominently displays a private surname together with a house number and an identifiable residential location.

This is particularly questionable because the object is presented as a public memorial, although the available evidence indicates that it is a private residential address marker.

The combination of a family name, house number and precise location creates an identifiable association with a private residence.

I understand that publicly visible inscriptions are not automatically prohibited from being photographed. Nevertheless, I ask that the residential nature of the object and the associated privacy concerns be taken into account.

1. Supporting evidence

I am providing the following materials:

The rejection of my original removal request.

Request for reconsideration

In summary, this Wayspot appears to be a private residential address marker incorrectly presented as a public memorial, with an inaccurate map position and unresolved concerns regarding its location on private residential property.

I respectfully request a renewed review of the removal decision, including verification of the actual property boundaries and the object’s eligibility under the private residential property criteria.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Kind regards

EDIT – Additional evidence regarding SFPRP:

Following feedback in the comments, I have found further evidence that the adjacent property at Steenbeker Weg 109 is a single-family residence.

The German building database [onlinestreet.de](http://onlinestreet.de) explicitly identifies No. 109 as an “Einfamilienhaus” (single-family house).

 ![Screenshot_20261027_144705_Chrome](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/wayfarer/original/3X/7/a/7a9e42207d7cf14da6a7adf8f31fbbd584c1cb9b.jpeg)

The same database separately classifies other properties on the street, including Nos. 42 and 44, as “Mehrfamilienhaus” (multi-family buildings).

 ![Screenshot_20261027_144745_Chrome](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/wayfarer/original/3X/2/4/24c9b324d1768f7adeef761d3f7c5c12352191bc.jpeg)

This distinction supports the classification of No. 109 as a single-family residence. The stone’s inscription showing a single family surname and house number is also consistent with this.

Screenshots of both building classifications have been provided in the comments.

Welcome to the forum 🙂

This is clearly a stone that marks this address and is not a memorial stone. It is also clear that this is inside the private property boundary and is not on public space (the stone edging show this).

The only question is whether this is _single-family private residential property_ (SFPRP) or multiple residences. You **must address this** as it will not get removed unless it is SFPRP. I have seen removal requests for artefacts that are on house walls but don’t get removed due to being a duplex, even though you have to walk up a private driveway to get to the artefact.

I cannot see any evidence showing this is SFPRP.

Thank you for your helpful clarification!

I have found additional evidence that Steenbeker Weg 109 is a single-family residence (SFPRP).

The German building database [onlinestreet.de](http://onlinestreet.de) explicitly classifies house number 109 as an “Einfamilienhaus” (single-family house).

 ![Screenshot_20261027_144705_Chrome](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/wayfarer/original/3X/7/a/7a9e42207d7cf14da6a7adf8f31fbbd584c1cb9b.jpeg)

Importantly, the same database distinguishes between building types: house numbers 42 and 44 on the same street are explicitly classified as “Mehrfamilienhaus” (multi-family buildings), as shown in the attached screenshots.

 ![Screenshot_20261027_144745_Chrome](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/wayfarer/original/3X/2/4/24c9b324d1768f7adeef761d3f7c5c12352191bc.jpeg)

In Germany, multi-unit buildings also commonly have separate doorbells, mailboxdisplays only one family surname and house number.

Source: [Steenbeker Weg in 24106 Kiel Wik](https://onlinestreet.de/strassen/Steenbeker%2BWeg.Kiel.208275.html)

While this is not an official building record, I believe it provides strong additional evidence supporting the SFPRP classification and the removal request.

The telephone listing may also help, if you can provide the link (if Scopely Explore open a DM or you use help chat - do not post here), if it only shows a single telephone number.

I suspect this is indeed SFPRP, not multi-family, but Scopely Explore are likely to need sufficient evidence. Suspicion is not normally enough.

Onlinestreet uses OSM as their source for data which isn’t always accurate, fot example it lists an office location near me as a single-family home because it is mapped as such on OSM

Yes that would work. I actually found some more evidence which I cannot share here in the forum due to German privacy laws. But if Scoperly is interested seeing it, I can provide the evidence in a private chat.
