Hello,
Two portals located in a large residential complex in Ümraniye, Istanbul, have recently been removed following what seems to be a false abuse report by a local player. I would like to appeal their removal and provide some context to support their reinstatement.
Both portals are located within a large, well-known residential site consisting of over 300 apartments. The site has open public access via a main entrance where delivery personnel, visitors, and service providers frequently come and go. It’s estimated that approximately 1,500 unique people have access to this location monthly.
- Portal 1 (“Kibele Heykelleri”) is situated near the public entrance of the complex and is easily reachable from the sidewalk and the open pathway outside the security gate.
- Portal 2 (“Kibele Çeşmesi”) is located further inside the complex, but still in a communal and accessible area where residents, visitors, and delivery services routinely pass through.
Both objects are permanent art installations and meet the criteria for valid Wayspots under Niantic’s guidelines (visual uniqueness, cultural significance, communal space).
Please reconsider the removal of these portals. They are legitimate, accessible, and meaningful locations within the community.
Thank you for your time.
