Reason of removal:
This point of interest was once a clear and beautiful landmark in Emmen. The area where it originally stood has been completely redeveloped, and today the Wildlands Zoo covers the entire site. I’ve included some photos for additional context. The reason for not reporting the point of interest in-game is that it is only accessible with a paid ticket to the zoo.
As shown below, this is the location of the point of interest based on the coordinates. These coordinates fall right in the middle of Wildlands Emmen. Since there is no Street View available inside the zoo and I didn’t want to pay for an entrance ticket, I wasn’t able to take any ground-level photos of the location.
As seen in this screenshot, the same location appears, but from 2011 using Google Earth. To further confirm this, the same buildings can be observed on the far right.
In 2011 there was no Street View available, at least none that I could find. After searching for a while, however, I came across a photo of the old point of interest standing in front of the entrance to the former zoo.
For even more clarity, I’ve also added the photo below of the current point of interest from Pokémon Go to confirm the object.
I hope this is enough information to prove that the object no longer exists. There are plenty of other interesting and valid points of interest in the area. Thank you for reading.
