Hello Wayfarer team I am writing on behalf of a POI that was removed yesterday. I did not receive a warning e-mail regarding this or any kind of notice, but when I opened Pokemon Go the stop was no longer in the game.
I believe this is a valid POI that is very relevant to my general community. The sign is at the entrance of a large park and it points to where the community center is located. There is a large patch of grass where people have picnics and play football, and 2 very big playgrounds before you reach the center so often people are unsure where it is since it is so deep into the park.
In my Wayfarer contributions, the POI still shows as accepted. I hope you can help me in getting it reinstated in PoGo, as I truly believe it is a relevant and positive contribution to the game.
If you feel that the removal is justified, I would be grateful if you could explain this to me so that I do not make the same mistake in the future. Thank you so much for taking the time to look into this
The submitter of a wayspot does not get alerted when it is removed, moved, edited etc. Doing so would alert submitters to resubmit abusive wayspots.
This wayspot is a direction marker, which is not eligible. Please see Trails & Markers
"Schild fürs Bachwiesen Gemeinschaftscentrum
Dieses Schild hilft den Menschen, sich zu orientieren und das GZ Bachwiesen zu erreichen. Es ist der perfekte Ort, dir einen Kaffee zu holen und Zeit mit den Freunden und der Familie zu verbringen."
"Sign for the Bachwiesen Community Center
This sign helps people find their way and reach the Bachwiesen Community Center. It is the perfect place to grab a coffee and spend time with friends and family."
Noo, this location is coming off a small residential street. The sign is at this entrance from this street to the park. This sign is facing this entrance and not, for example, toward the middle of the park if you come from another direction. But yeah like you said that doesn’t matter anyway
In this case the sign doesn’t function as an anchor point for the Point of Interest, it is also not a hiking trail, so in my view, this should indeed be removed.
Sure, an anchor point is a something, like a sign that represents the POI, so you can identify the POI easily in real life, for example a sign with the name of a park (the park is the POI, the sign is the place where you would position the wayspot)
