Restoration of Gym

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

This absolutely is not in a safe location for pedestrian access.

I am unable to play your video, but this is what the wayspot was for

and your Google Maps link shows this is in a roadway.

Indeed many were removed in this city, but as far as we could see, they were all in unsafe places:

This one is a pay and use public toilet exactly beside the waystop then how the area is unsafe. You are seeing the front of the waystop which is cit road but the backside is no vehicle zone and public toilet as well.

The public toilet is not relevant, as that is on the other side of the roadway.

This definitely has vehicles passing on the two front sides. The roadway behind it is also for vehicles, even if it isn’t for fast-moving traffic. It’s a curious location to put such a grand memorial, but it’s clearly for looking at from a distance.

I will give video standing between the public toilet and the memorial after few hours, so please give me some time to post the video. Front side is road but the back side there is no place for cars to go because some government vehicles and police vans are parked there and never removed. Please allow me 5-6hours, after I finish my work I will take videos of that place.

I noticed the vehicles standing there both times the google streetview cars went through, but I don’t think that is enough to make this safely accessible by pedestrians to the level at which wayfarer requires it.

You are definitely not supposed to cross the low boundary and stand on the monument and I wouldn’t feel comfortable being in any part of that roadway with my eyes shut.

It’s a common sense if there is public toilet at the very location of the waystop then public has safe access in that location. Why should I risk my life to take video I have used the public toilet several times in my life and other trainers as well. Just wait a while till I upload the video. Trust me we are totally disturbed from this kind of situation that we are gathering photos and videos to bring back gym. Please understand the game is for fun, there is no question of safety in this particular wayspot trust me.

That would be common sense but is not the situation here.

The public toilet is near to the POI, but is on the other side of a roadway.

Safe space on the left to access the toilet is not a space that provides access to the memorial on the right.

It is not the road in your shared picture it is a government vehicle to clean the dustbin, this much safety issues are present in shopping mall’s in house parking as well.
According to the size of the lane you can see it is impossible to driver cas as it is too narrow.

I am not confident to call this one way or the other.

The amount of parked traffic makes this difficult to see.

Street View 2022 does seem to show the “cut through” could have a low kerb and possibly is not meant for vehicles to drive through but this is not present in the 2025 view. The current view of this could help either way.

The other possible issue is that the Monument is definitely meant to be viewed from the front and this does not have safe access. Not sure how Staff would regard being able to reach it from behind which is not it’s intended purpose.

Good Luck

It is very narrow 3-4ft lane which has no name and no one can drive cars in it. Even my house has a wider passage than this. The lane in the picture is also not available in gmap default mode.

This stretch of road is very clearly over 8 feet wide. Claiming it is only 3-4 feet wide is blatantly untrue.

December 2022:

December 2025:

(The same vehicle three years apart is interesting but irrelevant.)

It is not interesting because I mentioned earlier it is the parking lot for government vehicles only and they never removed. And it is less than 4ft because there is 3 wheel cycle always parked in the road which makes it even more narrow. Why you forcefully trying to make the place unsafe, when the lane is not in gmap, no public vehicle never in the road and there is a tea stall and an public toilet and a government ward office bedside the the memorial which is easily accessible evern for kids.

This is not helping your case, they obviously move as the skip truck is in a different location on both Street Views so what you are saying now is that you either have to be in the road or the car park.

That still doesn’t make it safe.

Nobody is forcing anything, these are the questions you need to resolve to have a chance that staff will decide to re-instate.

Please be respectful.

They are near to the memorial. Safe access has to be at point zero, the actual memorial, not just nearby.

The back of the memorial is clearly unsafe for pedestrians as it is filled with rubble or service vehicles. The two sides/front are against the road and unsafe.

That is what makes the memorial not safe for pedestrian access. I can’t make it safe or unsafe.

Never removed doesn’t mean it has never left the location, it means it is the permanent parking for the small dustbin car and the 3 wheel cycle because there is also a ward office bedside the memorial. And we used to raid while standing in that unnamed and UN recognised lane because there is a tea stall as well and a water tank to drink water. If the video is needed by the authority I will give it as well.

I have to agree with @salixsorbus and @SlimboyFat71. We have seen many examples here at this forum where wayspots were removed for unsafe access, this rule is very strict, if the wayspot can only be accessed from the street it is not eligible.

I agree that this doesn’t always reflect how we would see it in real life, so I do believe @9TAilsAMRIT that in real life it is probably safe.

But the rules are clear, and better safe than sorry.

Sir please you can see it is 2022 when the rubbish is dumped and also in India it is common to have rubbish anywhere in public property even in parks. What kind of safety reason is this having rubbish. We have zero point access in that unnamed lane.

You don’t have to give proof to anybody who has posted on the thread, no staff have commented and they would normally open a DM if they wished.

As long term readers / contributors to the forum we are just stating what you need to address to have a chance of Staff restoring the wayspot. You can accept the comments or not.
