The UK generic rights-of-way markers are not part of named trails and do not have a logo, yet have been described as definitely eligible by Niantic.

I do think “public right of way” is a name, but you are right that the clarification says it’s not entirely necessary. It does seem to be a standard often applied in appeals etc
