Rural Pokémon GO area – looking for legitimate Wayspot options in Knabstrup, Denmark

Hi everyone,

I am looking for advice regarding Wayspot availability in Knabstrup, a small rural village in Denmark.

Our local Pokémon GO area has very few eligible locations, and the relevant area currently has only a small number of active PokéStops/Gyms. This makes access to normal gameplay, particularly local raids, considerably more difficult than it is in larger towns.

I have been trying to improve the area legitimately through Wayfarer rather than submitting low-quality objects or manipulating locations.

Recently I nominated two locations that I believed had genuine local significance:

Slagteren i Knabstrup – a long-established local butcher documented at the same address since at least 1989. Holbæk Municipality’s “Knabstrup Sætter Kurs” project also specifically mentions the butcher among the local shops residents identified as characteristic of Knabstrup.

Bænken med de farvede håndaftryk – a permanently decorated bench by Kagekassen. Local material from Knabstrup Bylaug documents the bench at Kagekassen as one of the Bylaug’s community benches and discusses its maintenance. The bench is decorated with numerous colourful handprints.

Both nominations were rejected, and I appealed both decisions with supporting documentation. Unfortunately, both appeals were also rejected.

I respect that an area having low Wayspot density does not make an otherwise ineligible object eligible. My problem is that I am now struggling to identify anything else in the village that legitimately meets the Wayfarer criteria.

I would therefore really appreciate help from experienced Wayfarers. Are there potential eligible Wayspots in Knabstrup that I may simply be overlooking?

I am happy to provide a map of the general area and photographs of possible locations. I specifically do not want to misplace nominations or submit objects that do not meet the criteria. I am trying to find legitimate Wayspots that accurately represent our small community.

General area: Knabstrup, 4440 Mørkøv, Denmark

Thank you for any suggestions or help looking at the area.

Any hiking or biking trails around?

I feel like the train station and bus terminal could be two separate wayspots

Nope there is no biking og hiking around me, There is a gym at the station

Yes, but I think you could have a spot for the train and the bus station separately imo (only if the bus station is closer to a terminal)

I would submit the picnic areas that seem to be around.

What is this area?

And is this another playground of sorts?

And maybe this community notice board?

Are these green areas in between houses supposed to be shared green spaces of sorts?

Is this area a park?

I see a bench and a watch for children sign on street view.

Could you share the details of this nomination? It sounds like it could be eligible if it is not on school grounds. Screenshots from your contributions page would be great.

The grass is between the pavement and the street
The bus and train are on same pavement/area
But i could give it a try on the bus, i just feel the bench and the buncher are more worth for the city because the bench have the handpaint from people from the city

I’ve descripe and send links in the appeal for both
My city is very small we only have the buther and this creative bench that people from the city put their handprants on

You have already sent an appeal? Can you post the appeal decision statement here? Sometimes they will give the decision a second look when posted on the forum, but there is no formal process to appeal an appeal. (About the bench, I mean. I agree about the butcher.)

Yes i have sent the appeal and they still denied it

I meant could we see the “Niantic Note” section on your contribution explaining why they rejected it.

OMG im stupid
I didn’t understand before now and saw the notes from Niantic

You just didn’t know where to look. That isn’t stupid. Can you post the link that you gave them in your appeal so we can take a look at it?

Hmm… They only rejected this because you had a license plate in the main photo? Maybe this one is worth trying again? I am not sure how I would submit a butcher shop though.

Yes i saw that  Do you now if i should take new pic or can i just cross out the license?

I would recommend a new photo. An “obviously doctored” photo is also a rejection reason. I still am not sure I would submit this, but am looking at your links.

Thank you so much for all of your help

I would step inside any businesses (other than the butcher) that might exist, and check for art! I find that often, the business itself will get denied, but art inside the business will be approved.

For example: murals above shelf units in grocery stores, murals or paintings in the dining area of restaurants, I even saw one that was a tile mosaic on the front of a fast food place’s counter.

I don’t see anything in your links about why either the butcher shop or the bench is important to the village. Do you have a link to a story about the bench being created?

There is also another factor involved in getting a Pokestop from an accepted nomination. See A Comprehensive Guide to S2 Cells and Pokémon GO | Pokémon GO Hub for an explanation about these boxes.

I am not sure where these things are that you submitted. If they are in a cell with an existing Pokestop or gym, you may want to concentrate on looking for other things to submit.
