Separate games nomination

Hi,
I really think you should just separate the nomination from game to game.. like I play pokemon Go, I do nomination for pokestops in pokemon Go.. why should I care if its already used in other games? Why is it so hard to check the map to see if its elligible? Its so not worth the time to just see your nomination being declined or tagged as a duplicate. Why do I have to download hundreds of apps and plug-in or addons to see the map where i can and cannot put pokestops? I was looking forward to be level 37 in pokemon go to make my area more viable for the game for me and other trainers, just to get declined 3/4 of my nomination because its already use in… ingress? What the hell is even that pixel 1999 tetris looking game? Fix your stuff man, you want people to spend money on your game but you dont make it easy for us to do stuff around. People quit because once they arrive to the so praised level to nominate pokestops, they get declined. I talked with many other trainers in my area and in groups on facebook, discord etc and everyone think its a mess. I even wrote a message to the support and they sent me a bot premade answer.. like…

Hey. Welcome to the community and I am sorry that you did have a frustrating time with Wayfarer!

Before the Ingress split, every Nitanic games used the same mapping database that the community would submit. Then every game will take the database and distribute “pokestop” or “portal” in different way. Both games(Pokemon Go and Ingress) could help contribute wayspots back then, which is why you see a lot of “Wayspots used in other games” message.

You can check if a wayspot is already occupied by turning on “Wayspot location” when you locate your pokestops, it is in the left bottom side of the map.

If you do have any question, feel free to put anything down here. :growing_heart:

Just to add a slight clarification - an accepted wayspot can be used in all, some, or none of the Scopely games (including Pikmin Bloom, and MHNow when the sync). So if you see something on the nomination map but not in Pokemon Go,

  • it either means that the game sync hasn’t hasn’t happened yet (~48 hrs)
  • Or that the spot doesn’t meat the inclusion rules for Pokemon Go. (They use cell density).

So I do understand your frustration about not having great maps, but no other games are ‘stealing’ your nominations from Pokemon Go

To add to what LetsRollGirl explained, if a wayspot does not meet the Pokemon GO inclusion rules, it will show up as “used in other games.” That does not mean the other games “stole the wayspot” or are limiting Pokemon GO from using it. It’s just an easier way of saying, “this doesn’t fit Pokemon GO’s spacing rules.”

That’s no longer the case as Pokémon GO and Ingress are owned by separate companies and thus have separate maps, just FYI

Pokemon Go uses S2 Cells. Details can be found here…

If your “Wayspot” is accepted but the S2 Rules means it will not become a pokestop / Gym…

Your nomination may…

  • become a Powerspot (Dynamax / Gigantamax) depending on its proximity to other waypoints.
  • replace the existing waypoint if that is removed for legitimate reasons. ***
  • be used in other Scopely games.

***Do Not attempt to get a legitimate wayspot removed just to get yours on to the map. This is seen as Abuse and can lead to suspension / bans of all accounts (Wayfarer, Pokemon Go and any other Scopely games.
