Some PokéStops and a Gym disappeared, but I didn’t receive any information about it

Does anyone know what happened to the following PokéStops and Gyms that disappeared on August 21st but still appear on the Wayfarer map? These are the locations that are missing. Can anyone help me?

I’m not sure but some of these look like they are on single family residence private residential property, which is not allowed.

You would not get a notification about Wayspots being removed unless you’re the one who reported them.

Welcome to the forum.

The Wayfarer map has not been updating regularly. If you look for -32.799006,-70.586869 on the Submit tab instead of the Mapview tab, Mural ave magica doesn’t show up.

This does appear to be a single family private residential property (SFPRP) on satellite view.

Even on the fence around this kind of property is not allowed.

The others seem to have similar SFPRP issues. If this is not correct, you can appeal for restoration in Wayspot Appeals with evidence.

The PokéStops are not located on private property. As can be seen on the GPS/map, there is an access road serving four homes, alongside a long wall featuring these murals.
Please review the location and restore the PokéStops.

Again, I am not staff to make this decision.

Fences along the boundaries of single family private residential property still count as ineligible. You need to provide evidence that this street art is on a separate wall. There is no street view at the one I checked. One of these appears to be directly on a building.

We just guessed that the reason for removal was SFPRP. They may also have been reported for not actually existing there.

I don’t think these would have been removed for simply being vandalism. They do seem to meet the level of “street art” to me.

Another reason they remove Wayspots is if the property owner requests it. Only staff can tell you if that was the reason.

Who should I appeal to, or who do you mean by the team that handles these matters? I’m new to this, which is why I’m asking.

Or possibly a mod will move this post there for you? I can’t do that.

I shall move this to appeals

Can you provide some current photos of the wayspots to show they still exist. Ensure that the photo is recording GPS data and post here. Take several to help locate where each is.

Plus a photographic evidence or land ownership maps to evidence that the walls are not belonging to a single Families home.

Thanks for the appeal, @ernestoporra! We have taken another look but stand by our decision to retire the Wayspots.

The solution (that the waypoints are retired) doesn’t quite make sense to me, as other murals aren’t removed while these murals are, is there any criterias that these don’t meet or is it purely for a whole different reason? Clearly these types of murals do promote exploration as, like Spain, are filled with them in all major cities. What difference does this evoke to remove?

Murals on single family private residential property are not allowed, including on the external boundary even if this is against a footpath or grass etc.

Reviewers will often accept these anyway, but Scopely Explore will remove them if they are reported. Scopely do not hunt round the map looking for ineligible murals.

This is why some on SFPRP get removed and some don’t - the ones that haven’t been removed haven’t been reported.

If there are other murals located on single private residential property, please let us know the coordinates and we will gladly request their removal.

Well browsing across the Wayfarer map of Madrid, there are murals similar to the removed images: (40.439557, -3.696758), (40.437099, -3.699509), (40.444200, -3.699764), (40.447429, -3.695270), The thing is, these murals are done on the garage doors of buildings owned by somebody, but do these still fall under single private residential property? Please let me know what is considered as “single private residential property” and what is considered public exploration waypoints.

If the garage is part of the property then it should be rejected.

Anything on the property including the outer boundary of SFPRP should be Rejected.

Then in that case, I have a few more GPS locations: 40.447474, -3.712170 / 40.449196, -3.707242 / 40.450649, -3.704052 / 40.442857, -3.704218 / 40.443206, -3.701330 / 40.435453, -3.710304 / 40.434267, -3.712319 / 40.432997, -3.714012. These coordinates all fall under the removal under the rules that have been specified here. You can gladly request their removal, if you wish

That’s on a shop front.

Also a shop front, based on the wayspot image.

Murals on shop fronts, even if there are residences above the shop, are OK.

This is on the shutters for a garage entrance for a multi-residence apartment. This is also OK.

This is on the shutters for a shop.

oh ok. i got a general idea, thank you.

I find that murals on shutters will almost always be on something that is an eligible location, as they are rarely on private garages. Obviously they might still be ineligible.

Murals on walls are the ones with the greatest chance of being on single-family private residential property, but they are also found on other walls (multi-family apartments, shops, random walls etc).
