[Sync Error] Approved Wayspots not syncing to Pokémon GO

Hello. I have two nominations that were fully approved by the community about a week and a half ago. They appear on the

Wayfarer database map but they are completely missing from

Pokémon GO. There are no other

POls nearby and they are not

Power Spots. Could you please check if they are stuck and perform a manual force sync?

Coordinates:

  • 1: (-22.814004, -43.360848)
  • 2: (-22.811880, - 43.361419)

Thank you!

Hello And welcome,

Pokémon Go uses a system called S2 cells, which splits the map into boxes and selects only 1 wayspot in that box to become a stop or gym.

A fuller explanation is here

Unfortunately both of these are already cells that have a stop

Although they can’t be stops they have the potential to be power spots so you might yet get a chance to use them.

Right, thanks for the explanation. Could you share how you manage to view those cells? Because I tried and couldn’t do it, if you can of course.

Hello and Welcome,

The cells are using the normal Wayfarer map but with user created tools to add the cells.

We are not allowed to link to them on the forum but a search for Wayfarer tools should help.

Good Luck

Standard Warning: This is not aimed at the OP or anyone in particular…

Do not use the knowledge of cells to mis-place nominations to try and get them in to the game. You are risking Warnings / Suspensions on both Wayfarer and GAME accounts.

Knowledge of cells should only be used so that you are pre-aware whether a nomination is likely to be a stop / gym or a powerspot.

It can also be used where certain points of interest have more than 1 legitimate location. Example: Sports Field. It is recommended to place at the edge but off the field of play. This could give an option of more than 1 cell.

Once a nomination has been accepted and the location is seen as Acceptable you should not attempt to move it for game purposes. This can also risk your accounts. Location edits should only be attempted when the current location is incorrect. Example: From the field of play to the side.
