Tavern Fountain - No Safe Pedestrian Access?

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Tavern Fountain
  • Location (lat/lon): 44.937663,-92.949633
  • City: Woodbury
  • Country: USA
  • Additional Information (if any)

Reported this through the map. Received Rejection email.

Wayspot is pinned to the outer side walk where as the POI is on the roundabout.

I see no safe pedestrian access.

Opinions appreciated.

Check these coordinates. When I go there, the map doesn’t look like what you showed.

Edit: found it 44.937291,-92.956473

This is a weird one. Is that more of a parking area than a road? The pin is not on the fountain, but idk if it needs to be removed for being in a roundabout. However, there is not pedestrian access to the fountain due to the circle of rocks visible on satellite and street views. Here is a clickable street view to go with the still you already posted.

You are clearly not meant to access the fountain. If it were pinned where the fountain actually is, I would say that it does not have safe pedestrian access due to those rocks.

This looks like a small roundabout at a parking lot, I reported a wayspot at a parking lot that wasn’t even removed. At least this one is a bit safer.

The location of the wayspot does suggest the submitter knew exactly what they were doing - they wanted the wayspot at a safe location for interacting with in Ingress, as the actual location of the POI would be unsafe for standing at to use ultra-strikes. This was submitted in 2014 or earlier, so was done through Ingress.

Thanks for the appeal, @SlimboyFat71! We gave this a second look and decided to retire the Wayspot in question.
