I think my description/supporting info should suffice. This is a one of a kind water pump in the community where people gather to fetch water. Can anybody help me to improve this? Thanks in advance
In my experience, a water pump is just infrastructure, not a great place to exercise, explore, or be social.
If there is a gathering spot, you should show the place to gather.
People gather here to fetch and, you know, gossip and talk with each other. As far as uniqueness, it is a unique gathering spot for the community, also accessible by pedestrians. Historically, not that much but it was installed in the early 2000s, maybe earlier. For me, it is similar to a fountain minus the artistic touch but important nonetheless.
People go there to fetch water… and passibly gossip, which is different as the location doesn’t seem to accommodate any gathering.
Hey there @Morbzky!! Just a reminder that every good nomination needs to check one of Niantic/Scopely’s big three boxes (Criteria):
-
A Great Place to Explore – Something cool, unique, or meaningful to the community. (Think murals, landmarks, or local gems.)
-
A Great Place to Exercise – Spots that get people moving, like trails, playgrounds, or sports fields.
-
A Great Place to Be Social – Places where folks naturally meet up, such as community centers, libraries, or gathering spots.
I have reservations against these. In my experience, the pumps that do become places where people hang around (much like pools) are also used as baths (not like pools, as in restroom baths). IMO that may be considered a sensitive location for the purposes of Wayfarer and AR.
