Unable to save Wayspot drafts or submit nominations – “An unexpected error has occurred”

Hello,

I have been experiencing a persistent problem with Wayspot submissions for the past three days.

Whenever I try to create a new Wayspot nomination, I receive the following error:
“An unexpected error has occurred. Please refresh this page.”

The problem occurs when I try to save the nomination as a draft, and also when I try to proceed with the submission.

What is particularly strange is that the draft does not actually save my progress. After the error, when I go back to my drafts, the nomination appears as if I had never entered any information.

I have already tried several things to rule out a local problem:
-I tried submitting through the Wayfarer app.
-I uninstalled and reinstalled the app.
-I tried using Wayfarer through the web platform instead.
-I tried changing the text/content of the nomination.
-I even tested with only a few words in the fields, so I could rule out a problem with the wording or description.
The exact same error still occurs.

Therefore, the issue seems to affect both the app and the web submission system, and does not appear to be related to the content of the nomination.Could someone please confirm whether this is a known issue with Wayspot submissions or the new Web Submission system?

At the moment, I am completely unable to create or even save a Wayspot nomination as a draft.

Thank you for looking into this.

I tried to reproduce just now on iPhone, with one imageless draft and one draft with image. Both worked fine. Could not reproduce.

Have you tried on another device?

Thank you for the suggestion!
I tested Wayfarer on my boyfriend’s phone using my own account, and the submission worked successfully.
So apparently, the problem seems to be related to my phone rather than my account.
For reference, the last successful submission I made from my own phone was on September 1st, 2026.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this issue on my phone?
Thank you!

It would be good to know what phone and web browser you used, the OS version as well

My phone : one+ 10T

Browser : chrome + firefox (i tried both)

OS : Android 15

Thanks

I ve just reboot my device and it works again

Thanks for your help !

I also got the same error message multiple times, but managed to save drafts and/or submit after trying a second or third time.
In my case it seemed to be related to uploading pictures (multiple MB of data to send to the server) in places with a slow or unstable connection. Editing only the text or moving the pin on the map (probably within a few kB of data) never triggered it.
If it happens again you can try to save the draft after uploading each picture, it is a bit annoying but it seems to help.

I tested Wayfarer on my boyfriend’s phone using my own account, and the submission worked successfully.

@Sorahtak, could you share the device details and OS version with us where you were able to successfully submit

@Cefalopodeer , could you also share the device details?

Model: Galaxy A25 5G
OS: Android 16
Browser: Chrome

I’ve also experienced this a number of times. (Google Pixel 9, running Android 17).

When it happens, I just switch from Firefox→Chrome (or vice versa) and that normally works. Restarting the phone will also deal with the problem, but that’s a bit slow when you are in the middle of subbing things!

@00witsd, I have noted it down and passed it on to our concerned team.

This happens for me quite frequently

It seems if I lose signal, I am then locked out from submitting with this error, and if it does save a draft, the draft is blank and pinned on the location I’m at when I log back in  logging out and back in doesn’t help at the time. Coming back an hour or 2 later does. Has also happened without signal issues as well. So not necessarily signal related.
