Vegetable stand stop decline

Hello I recently made a roadside vegetable stand with my cousin and wanted to submit it as a stop. I have submitted it twice; thinking the first time I used incorrect tags. Unfortunately I also didn’t find any other tags that fit and it has been declined twice. Does anyone any recommendations as to what tags I could use or if I could label it at something else to get it approved. It’s for the public.

The tags in the “what is it?” section of the submission process don’t really mean anything, but some reviewers do get confused and think they represent the criteria (they don’t).

In order to become a wayspot, a nomination needs to be a great place to socialise, a great place to exercise, and/or a great place to explore, and it also needs to not meet any of the rejection criteria. A roadside vegetable stand probably isn’t going to meet any of those criteria by itself.

If you’re willing to share the rough area (don’t give your exact address), we could have a look on some maps and see if we can find anything that might stand a better chance of getting accepted.

In addition to hankwolfman’s excellent reply, maybe you could post your vegetable stand submission details here for feedback?

I’ve approved one so far that was an actual great submission - photo, location and supporting info. It made me want to drive out there to Explore.

Welcome to the forum.

Even if the roadside stand is “for the public” it is still ineligible if it is on single family private residential property.

My area is full of roadside stands. They vary from a box on a table to a permanent structure structures. From SFPRP to Farms along a road. IMO, the table and box on SFPRP is definitely not eligible, the permanent structure located along a road is eligible. Since they are all seasonal you might hit a rejection for not permanent even with the structures, although I would consider this to be a wrongful rejection.

Thanks for all of the information. It is on the side of the road but it also is right next to a public sidewalk. Additionally community libraries in my neighborhood are stops and reside directly in front of residential single family homes, so that is odd reason for it to be rejected. I have a feeling if I put a piece of art there and submitted it, it would be accepted no problem. Should I just paint it and call it art? I feel like this would be something to bring people together outside to meet others and provide for a developing community, just strange.

Maybe my description isn’t detailed enough.

Here is a clarification on SFPRP

Access from the sidewalk is not enough. If those LFL’s are on SFPRP, they should be reported for removal. There is a legal gray area between the sidewalk and the street, though.
