When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:
- Wayspot Title: Ynyswen Welfare Hall
- Location (lat/lon):51.666963,-3.520809
- City: RCT
- Country: Wales, UK
- Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information): none
- Additional Information (if any):
The Wayspot has existed in game for several years now and is a point of activity within the local community. It is also still very much open and active, it’s signage is new and it exists on Google maps. I can take a photo if it will be helpful.
Unfortunately we have a toxic group here that are actively removing pokestops and gyms, even though they are valid POIs and are actively used - acting against the good of the community.
At this point, I’m requesting that the gym be restored and any accounts associated with the false removal (and their alts) all need to be banned. This keeps happening and you need to take a stronger stance on punishing false removals.
Thank you for taking the time to review this matter.
Welcome to the forum
The wayspot (gym) is showing on the wayfarer map, but not the submission map, meaning it has very recently been removed from the map.
Google maps shows that this is a welfare hall and is still open, so the only legitimate reason for removal would be a property owner request (although normally that would mean the gym gets downgraded but the wayspot remains). Anything else would appear to be an abusive removal report, which is quite likely given that this was a gym. Only Scopely Explore can confirm.
Good luck.
Yeah. It was only removed in the last few hours. I’m fairly quick on the ball with this one, because its in view and it’s easy to notice when it just vanishes.
Hopefully someone at Wayfarer can review and get this issue fixed. I’d love for whomever is doing this for be dealt with, this is an ongoing problem here and it’s getting out of hand.
Myself and part of the local group were the ones who initially seeded and area and it’s devastating to see people undoing the weeks of work we put in.

Not being familiar with these, “Welfare Hall” sounds like a sensitive location. Could you provide links to show what it is and the purpose? That may help your reinstatement case.
There was a recent topic here about a women’s center being rejected, although it has a community aspect: Appeal for community center rejected as refuge center for abuse victims
Welfare halls in the UK are community centres, ostensibly called that because they served the welfare of the community - at last as far as my research has identified.
It’s listed as a community centre.

Similarly listed on Google Maps.
It’s not a sensitive location, and never has been. It’s not a medical centres, doesn’t obstruct emergency services and isn’t near a school. Though I understand the confusion given the name alone.
It is usually best to leave accusations against other players out of these appeals. If you have actual evidence of abusive reporting, you can report the players. I would probably use help chat for this. https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/help
Hello and Welcome @sciguyryan
I edited your post to prevent doxxing.
As a UK reviewer I fully recognise this as what would have been known probably as a miners welfare hall. I doubt that would have been the reason for removal, but you never know.
I did try to find some current postings about the centre but the most recent was 2025 where it was about very improvements going to be made but then nothing. But i might be looking with the wrong place?
The team will have had evidence before taking action to remove. So you will need to provide evidence to reinstate. Simply asking is not enough.
I would suggest that you follow the normal advice here for a removal and provide evidence that it is there and it is open and functioning - Geotagged photos or a video would be good. So if there is an activity happening tomorrow there pictures of it in use would be a great way to do that and if they changed their facebook site something to show a current set of activites…I’m guessing maybe some school holiday activity?
If someone has falsified information the Team will follow the policy around sanctions.
If there are other spots nearby that you would like to request reinstatement for please do submit an appeal here with the same type of evidence.
I don’t think they keep their Facebook updated, and I’m not photographing people there while it’s open, though it’s open safe imes a week at a minimum. A quick search on Facebook brought up two classes that are still regularly run from there. It’s also used as a community voting place, etc.
I’ll try to get in touch with the owners for a letter of support, but I don’t know how easy that will be.
I think some photos with the doors open or even some inside pictures minus people?
Photos work best usually. See what you can do.
As a quick update. It has been restored as a stop today, but not the gym it was. I’m still hoping there is a chance they’ll go back and fix that too, since they’ve obviously concluded it was a false removal and things should be restored to the status quo. So I’ll leave this open for now.
Thanks to whoever it was at Wayfarer that acted to restore it.
Unfortunately, this is unlikely to happen
So don’t get your hopes up.
Wayfarer have corrected the error and returned the wayspot.
The Pokemon Go team decide what will be a pokestop or a Gym and there will already have been a replacement.
Not ideal and we can still hope.
Another update. The gym has been entirely restored now. As such I’m going to request this thread be closed.
I appreciate all the input and help, and my thanks goes out to the Wayfarer team for sorting this out.
