I would like to report a potential issue concerning the accessibility and real-world location of existing Wayspots in this area.
The blue-marked area already contains existing PokéStops and a Gym. However, the road/path shown within the red-marked area is not currently open for public use and cannot be used as an accessible pedestrian route.
In addition, the purple-marked area has a very steep terrain with a significant elevation gradient. The slope is steep enough to be suitable for skiing, and it is not a normal or safely accessible walking area.
Because of these physical conditions, the Wayspots in or near these areas may not have safe and legitimate pedestrian access as required for a valid Wayspot location.
I kindly ask that the affected Wayspots and their real-world accessibility be reviewed using current map information and the actual physical conditions of the area.
I am providing the marked image to clearly indicate the relevant areas and explain the accessibility issue.
I would also like to provide additional information regarding the existing PokéStops and Gyms located within the blue-marked area.
I kindly request that all existing PokéStops and Gyms within this marked area be individually reviewed for their actual physical location and accessibility.
Several of these Wayspots appear to be located in an area where there is no legitimate pedestrian access. The surrounding roads and paths shown on the map do not accurately represent the current accessibility of the area. In particular, the path indicated in the red-marked area is not open for public use.
In addition, parts of the surrounding terrain have a very significant slope, as indicated by the purple-marked area. This terrain is extremely steep and is not suitable for normal pedestrian access.
For these reasons, I believe that the existing PokéStops and Gyms in the blue-marked area should be carefully reviewed. If individual Wayspots cannot be safely and legitimately reached by pedestrians due to the closed access route or the steep terrain, I respectfully request that they be removed.
I am providing this additional information to clarify that my request concerns the actual physical accessibility of the existing Wayspots, rather than their presence on the map alone.
Hi and welcome,
The terrain does not have to be open to the public, only a single family private residence is not allowed.
Safe access doesn’t mean that everyone should be able to walk there, but it should be safe from traffic, and not unsafe to stand there.
In my view, these are fine wayspots, and should not be removed.
But you can report individual wayspots for removal (either in the game, or from the wayfarer map for removal, you will need to explain per wayspot why it should be removed).
Location: 49.454570,10.650152
There is also another issue I would like to clarify.
Within the normal play area, there is a PokéStop located at (49.455818, 10.646446) along a route. There is also a Gym at (49.454570, 10.650152). Unfortunately, during Raid Hours, the PokéStop at (49.455818, 10.646446) is too far away from the main area where players normally play, making it impractical to reach and participate in the game activities there.
I previously submitted removal requests for these PokéStops, explaining that they are too far away and are not located in an area that is actually used for normal gameplay. However, my removal requests were rejected almost immediately, without giving me an opportunity to provide further context. This is why I decided to bring the issue here and ask for clarification.
I am not trying to remove valid Wayspots simply because they are inconvenient. My intention is to make sure that the existing Wayspots are placed in locations that are actually usable and accessible for the local player community.
For example, if the Gym currently located at (49.454570, 10.650152) were converted into a PokéStop, and the PokéStop at (49.455818, 10.646446) were converted into a Gym, the distribution of Wayspots would be much more practical for the local community.
This would allow players to participate in Raid Hours and other activities without having to travel unnecessarily far, and would make playing the game in our town much more enjoyable and engaging.
I would appreciate it if this situation could be reviewed with the actual locations and gameplay conditions taken into consideration.
As far as wayfarer is concerned, location accuracy is important. If the stops you reported exist, and they’re in the correct locations, and those locations wouldn’t violate any criteria, then that’s all that matters.
Regarding how wayspots are used in Pokémon Go, that’s up to the Pokémon Go dev team, and not anything that the wayfarer team has control over. Gym creation is intended to be random and not influenced by players, and swapping which wayspots are used for which purposes in Pokémon Go is not something that is typically requestable.
So if you did submit a removal report, and it was not accepted, you can appeal that rejection at this forum.
You can post the rejected removal and explain in more detail with your appeal why you feel it should be removed.
However I don’t think you will be succesful, in fact you may even risk a warning or possible a ban (including your pokemon go account), as trying to manipulate the gameboard is not allowed. So I strongly advise not to do this.
Thank you for the clarification.
To be honest, I wasn’t expecting to make much progress with this issue. I simply wanted to give it a try and see if there was any possibility of having the situation reviewed. It would have been nice if it had worked out, but I understand the situation now.
I don’t intend to submit any further reports regarding this matter or risk violating the rules.
Thanks again for taking the time to explain and for your advice.
