Hello everyone,

Some time ago, I submitted a photo edit for a Wayspot named “Strada dei Vini dei Castelli - Colli Lanuvini” located at SS7 21, Genzano di Roma, Italy. My new photo was accepted on September 17, 2025.

However, I just noticed that the Wayspot has completely disappeared from the map. Can anyone explain why this might have happened? Was it manually reported and removed by a property owner, or could it be related to a cell sync issue?

Thanks in advance for your help!

What is this sign indicating?

I’m not convinced the google translate into English produced the right phrasing.

This sign marks the ‘Strada dei Vini dei Castelli Romani’ (Wine Route of the Roman Castles), an official tourist and cultural trail dedicated to the historic winemaking region just outside of Rome.

Specifically, this informational board highlights the municipality of Genzano di Roma and indicates that the town is part of the D.O.C. Colli Lanuvini (Controlled Designation of Origin) wine-producing area.

Signs like this one are great Points of Interest as they encourage exploration of the local area, guide tourists along scenic routes, and promote the region’s rich agricultural history and culture."

I see lots of results when I search for ‘Strada dei Vini dei Castelli Romani’ and the logos match the one on this sign. I can’t see a reason for removal (it’s safely accessible, it exists, and is eligible), so it might have been removed due to a property owner request. This will need a response from Scopely Explore.

This was the original wayspot image and it was located at 41.712331, 12.685128 (give or take a metre)

thanks =)

The reason could be that these signs are meant for cars and could thus be seen as generic infrastructure

I’d feel a little uncomfortable if that was the explanation, but it would at least be an explanation.

The tour that this sign promotes could easily be followed using non-vehicular transport, such as a bicycle. Certainly for a tour visiting wineries I would prefer to be cycling than driving.

It seems that going by car is the preferred method of transportation for the tour since apparently the towns are quite far apart etc

I vaguely remember a similar case a while back, I’ll link it if can find it

I’m sorry they removed this Wayspot, because I had created some Pokémon GO routes there that connected to local wineries.
