There isn’t any guideline posted as to what constitutes evidence that a Wayspot needs to be removed. It can be sending a geo-tagged photo, it can be finding the same photo used somewhere else, it can be a property owner request, and there are probably many other ways.
You should not resubmit something that has been removed, because it could be considered abuse to submit something they have already decided is ineligible. If something was removed that you can prove should not have been, you can ask for reinstatement in Wayspot Appeals and the team will consider your evidence. If it was a property owner request, they will not restore it.
Can I somehow find out, if it was a property owner request (which would be kinda fun, since one of the owner is me and another one is the City with the Hiking-Trail)
How do i prove, that it should be there?
I cant do it with Google Maps Streetview, since its a Hiking-Trail, aka no images.
And since it is in the Woods, you see only Trees from above and also on the Pictures, that i used for the first time
If there is any streetview nearby, you could take a video that ties to streetview and leads to the POI. Alternatively, a video that includes something which is visible from aerial images and leads from that to the POI.
Often geo-tagged photos or a video containing recognizable elements in a walkthrough will prove it. Staff will let you know if they need more evidence that what you provide.
If there is an official map of the Hiking Trail, that will help to link that.
And like i said, aerial images = you see only trees
Thats what happens, if you use hiking trails and a cross in the middle of the wood
That is also my “problem”, since i cant really proof it better than i already did on the old pictures
And also why i wonder, HOW and WHY the got removed. Unless someone hates me and made pictures about the area, but just without the POI
Which is possible for EVERY POI, that is not on streetview
I’m not saying these are or aren’t abusive removals, but some removals which get posted about on this forum are clearly abusive, so I expect people provide fake data (images, videos), which is easy enough to create these days.
Always expect that a removal had data to back it up, so you can’t simply say “but it does exist”. You need to overcome that data by providing your own. Unfortunately, a video of woods is hard to validate the location for - possibly two devices, one with the Pogo location showing in the video from the second device.
I am not staff. I am telling you what I have observed as a regular on the forum. I don’t think I can help any more on this question. Good luck to you if you try an appeal.
For the hiking trail is this an official trail or just a path that people walk on.
I would expect an official trail will be documented somewhere. Is there an official map that even if it doesn’t prove the marker was there it goes a long way in that it proves the trail goes where the nominations where.
Its an official trail with the yellow shield that says the name and where it runs through
About a map. I dont know, who has that or where. I have no huge map with all trails, if that is the question. Maybe the City has one somewhere, but no idea, if and how i can see them and copy/photo/whatever them
