Weather Station rejected

Any reason why a weather station at park was auto rejected.

Reason: This submission was declined by Niantic’s automated process for not adhering to Wayfarer criteria

Why is this an interesting point to

exercise, socialize or explore?

Not every utility item qualifies.

If there is a great story behind, you an appeal, but it looks like just a general utility item.

Hello and Welcome,

IMO: The location itself is not interesting. You may search out the information it supplies but I would not except that many people are going out to visit these locations.

Welcome to the forum

There is a weather station in a park near me which is a wayspot, but it is very different to this one.

  • It is in a park and is located where people are obviously expected to see it.
  • It has an information board describing it and is obvious a tourist attraction

A weather station in itself is not a point of exploration. For something that won’t meet social or exercise, you need to think about how it is worth exploring.

Dang, I personally don’t get how a weather station is not point interest. A weather station is a better destination than a mural. A weather station records wind speed, wind direction, humidity, precipitation levels and temperature.

The weather station in itself is just a utility. The cage around it indicates that you are not meant to interact with it.

IF there are signs explaining the weather station, those would be meant to be interacted with by the public. Those could be eligible.

This is a link to criteria you can bookmark.

I also like the cartoons illustrating the ideas here: https://wayfarer.scopely.com/new/criteria/acceptance
To me this is like the dumpster example. Trash collection is a vital service, but that does not make a dumpster a great place to explore.

Guessing only things that fit wayfaer criteria can be accepted.

As I enjoy gardening I do have 1 of these at the top of the garden (no way close to being as professional). Only time I need to interact with the hardware is the occasional maintenance otherwise its on the website…
