Whats with the "tenple, "chapel",

Maybe it’s trend in Finland but almost every contrib that I am reviewing is tagged as temple (occasionally chapel, monastery,.. whatever ) ? is this a new trend or smthing,?

It PMO and I just tag them bad info or non perm. Should I just accept them and droo the temple tag?

Hello and Welcome,

Niantic have stated that the Tags have no baring on the games.

I would not Reject just for the Tags, you can thumb down any (or all the tags) and it would not change your Vote.

My personal hate is when people select “Other”

This could be down to a mismatch between how this is presented in game during the submission process versus how we see it when reviewing on wayfarer.

In game, you are able to select “other” and the game then prompts you to type in your own category. However, when someone reviews it, they don’t see whatever was typed in the box, and only see “other”.

If we have the option to create a custom category tag, then this custom tag should be displayed to the reviewer. However, if the wayfarer team do not want to show this information to reviewers, then the ability to suggest a custom tag using the “other” option should probably be removed so that it can’t be selected.

Hello and welcome,

These tags, or categories, were not created by Niantic Scopley, but are from a 3rd party, and they are just categories that have no bearing really. It is something that many have asked to be removed.

There are also categories that are in the list that Wayfarer doesn’t allow, such as liquor stores and police stations, another tell that these came from a 3rd party. There are also things missing, such as certain sports courts and fields, so we just have to use the best category that’s closest to describe it (such as choosing Baseball Field during nomination when it’s a softball field). Some also think that Wayfarer may add some categories after submission, as a submitter can add 3, but from time to time, you’ll get a review with 4 or more, so it’s possible that the system may add more, or even add some that do not match the nomination for some unknown reason.

No one should reject anything for the categories. If you don’t think that something is a temple or chapel, just check “No” and submit the review. The first 7 questions are the ones that are needed to be answered, and the categories can be all marked “No” and the review can still be processed.
