There has been a gym in my local community called the Merrivale West Clubhouse that has been in the game for many many years now. I have the gold gym badge for it but it recently disappeared and a different pokestop became a gym. I wasn’t sure what to do so I resubmitted the Merrivale West Clubhouse and it got approved rather quickly and then became a powerspot in the game. With it being added back into the game, I was wondering why it got removed in the first place and if it is possible if the gym can be readded as I would love to be able to see my stats that correspond with the gym as it has been around for years and it hurts not being able to access the badge anymore even though it still appears in my profile as gold.
Welcome.
Google Maps lists this as permanently closed. This is apparently something that is done to any clubhouse organised by a HOA in the US, even if it’s actually open, so maybe someone reported it but presented that information wrongfully? That would be my speculation.
Anyhow, your resubmission did only end up as a powerspot because, judging from the photo and the satellite view, you didn’t put the submission at the actual house:
This has caused it to be in the same S2 Level 17 cell as the picnic area stop, which makes it ineligible to become a stop or gym, which is something that Wayfarer does not decide, but the game does:
If you correct the location via help chat request (on the wayfarer website, help tab, then orange chat bubble), it will appear again as it would move to an unoccupied cell.
Thank you very much for the helpful response, may I ask how you found the map with the way spots on it that showed the world? On wayfarer it just shows me the blacked out neighborhood outlines but you have the real world imaging. Is it through wayfarer or something else?
Thank you very much, quick response is very appreciated
