As stated in the reported duplicate waypoint email. This waypoint is the duplicate of another waypoint that is no longer on the map (did y’all choose to remove the old one? Did someone else report the other one rendering my report moot?) On top of this being the duplicate, the title is misspelled and incorrectly named. There is no Copperus cove community park, it is Copperas Cove’s City Park and is typically referred to as just “City Park” See their Facebook page for examples, but locals often say Copperas Cove City Park or Cove City Park to be clear it’s the one in Cove. The description is also inaccurate, this is the same basketball court that was here all along, they just renovated the surface, not new.
While the older waypoint wasn’t perfect, needing a new photo, the title and description were more accurate and it was the established waypoint. The new one should not have been accepted.
It’s also not ideal that it is located on the court’s playing surface.
In your position I’d visit and put in a move request to the edge of the court (shame the court isn’t a little further south, as you could legitimately place it in a new cell, but that’s sadly not an option), and put in a new (correctly spelt) title. It will be easier to get the edits through that to reinstate the missing POI and then remove this one.
If it’s something they can change back then I think that would be best. If it’s not something they’re willing to change that’s fine. Hopefully they can give me some clue as to what happened in this case.
