The Issue :
I submitted a Pokestop nomination on 27/08/2026, the nomination then got accepted 3 days later on 30/08/2026. When it didn’t show on the Pokemon go app for 3 days, I went onto the Niantic Wayfarer website to check it was still there.
As you can see it is there, however its a white circle which means that its not in the game. Is there a reason why its not in the game? Did I do something wrong? I’m new to trying to summit POI so if anyone can let me know whats going on I would be very appreciative <3 Thank you
DO NOT attempt a location edit unless the current location is incorrect. Even 1 correct location to another equally correct location should not be attempted.
This could lead to warnings / suspensions on both Wayfarer and GAMES accounts.
The current location seems way off. Correction location should be 54.700488, -1.433680, which puts it in its own cell.
@CroweJunior you want to request location edit on help chat asap, as such a big misplacement can lead to a warning/suspension. Tell them you made a genuine mistake (which I believe you did).
I am also one who cautions people against trying to move an accepted wayspot just so it will be eligible to be a pokestop, but @doomzdays is correct. The bench on Salters Lane that matches this one is visible on street view.
To ask help chat to move this, go to the Help tab at https://wayfarer.scopely.com/new/help and a chat box will pop up in the lower right corner. A bot will ask for information, and a human will reply there once they have had a chance to evaluate the request.
It is a good idea to take a screenshot when you get the ticket number just in case your browser loses the help chat history and you don’t see their reply.
It looks to me like the correct coordinates would be 54.700473,-1.433693
If the coordinates it was approved at - or the existing stop in that cell! - are not accurate to where the real world object actually is, a correction is possible. If that correction was to result in it being in an otherwise unoccupied cell, then it could populate in game.
I’ve had this happen; my very first stop was mis-positioned. It’s a mural, but since I was unfamiliar with the shape of the cursor, I guessed that the center of the cursor would be used, not the bottom edge. This put it very slightly over the line into the next cell (both cells were unoccupied at that time), at coordinates close to the center of the room (a restaurant dining room). When I then nominated another mural on the opposite wall of the same room, they wound up being in the same cell even though the line runs through the middle of the room, so the second one was incorrectly blocked. I got the first one corrected, which allowed the second one to populate also.
fyi, it is usually better to create a new topic for a question like this so it won’t get missed.
Did you read the post about S2 cells? This seems to be the issue here. They are all in the same outlined L17 S2 cell as an existing Pokestop, so are not eligible to become Pokestops, too.
Never use knowledge of S2 cells to misplace your nominations, because that can lead to sanctions on your accounts. Just use this information to know where to look for points of interest.
If this is actually a library, this would be a good nomination.
Thanks for letting me know. I never thought this was strictly applied in the game, been playing for 5 months and I’ve seen lots of pokestops, gyms and powerspots very near to each other but I guess it changes through time and you need to set the rules high. Im a bit discourage to know this one, but I guess I’ll stop nominating coz it’s quite tiring and been planning to take a rest and stop playing the game. Anyways, Thank you so much and God bless. More power!
Sometimes (as in my examples above) they can be really close together, but they’re in separate cells on the map. The position within each cell doesn’t matter. So you might see four points very close together, but it’s because they are in the corners of four different cells. Or as in my restaurant example, two on opposite sides of the same room with the cell line through the middle.
Powerspots don’t go by the same rule. In fact some “blocked” waypoints can become power spots. But the vast majority of them are from a mass import of businesses from a database and those are only allowed to be power spots.
If you do decide that you would like to try again I will make a couple of suggestions…
1: Post in “Nomination Support” what you plan to submit before submitting. Include Photos, Title, Description, Supplemental and Location (Long / Lat works best). You will get advice whether it is “Good to Go”, “Could do with improvements” or “Does not meet criteria”. If requested we can also advise whether it has a chance to be a stop / gym or a powerspot.
2: Again, post in “Nomination Support” asking for suggestions. Give the general location (DO NOT USE YOUR HOME ADDRESS) and people will scour the maps and make suggestions if it is possible. Some places just don’t have anything suitable but it is rare.
Finally, Accepted wayspots that don’t make it in to the game may not be “a waste”.
they could be used to replace a correctly removed stop / gym.
Some could be used as Powerspots as these have different “Proximity Rules”.
May appear in other Scopely Games.
May be used in a future feature not yet announced.
Standard Warning: This is not aimed at the OP or anyone in particular…
Do not use the knowledge of cells to mis-place nominations to try and get them in to the game. You are risking Warnings / Suspensions on both Wayfarer and GAME accounts.
Knowledge of cells should only be used so that you are pre-aware whether a nomination is likely to be a stop / gym or a powerspot.
It can also be used where certain points of interest have more than 1 legitimate location. Example: Sports Field. It is recommended to place at the edge but off the field of play. This could give an option of more than 1 cell.
Once a nomination has been accepted and the location is seen as Acceptable you should not attempt to move it for game purposes. This can also risk your accounts. Location edits should only be attempted when the current location is incorrect. Example: From the field of play to the side.
