Appeal for False AI/ML Rejection: Street Art Planter (Not a Memorial, No PRP)

Hello Wayfarer team,

My nomination was automatically rejected by the automated AI system, and the in-app appeal button is missing. I would really appreciate a manual review. I have been trying to get this valid neighborhood initiative approved but keep running into inconsistent rejections:

Attempt 1:Rejected for “Mass Produced Item”.

Attempt 2:Clarified it is a unique handmade upcycle project. Rejected for “Private Residential Property”.

Attempt 3 (Current): Included the official government land registry map (Kadaster) to prove it is on 100% public property. The AI immediately rejected it again.

I believe the AI is falsely flagging this as a “Ghost Bike” (memorial) or is confused by the background. This is a unique, cheerful neighborhood planter bolted to a wooden pole in the ground. Furthermore, due to the Dutch municipal model, this grass strip is 100% public property maintained by the city, not a homeowner’s easement. The Kadaster map in my supporting info proves the private property line ends at the hedge.

Here is the requested nomination info:

(English translation: Street Sculpture Hagenduin)

Location: See the overview photo for the official Land Registry (Kadaster) map and the permanent anchoring to the pole. The black lines on the map mark the exact property boundaries of the houses; the verge where this object is located is 100% public municipal land and is maintained by the municipality. The object is located in public space and is safely accessible to pedestrians (meets ‘Exploration’).)

Thank you for your time and for reviewing this manually!

Appeals ‘regenerate’ after 15 days. In the interim, the button vanishes.

Are you sure that you have not used two appeals within the last two weeks?

If not SFPRP, I would reject due to lack of sidewalk.

It is certainly not SFPRP, see the official database:

Did not know that I have used it 2 times for this contribution.

Well, that will be the issue then. :slightly_smiling_face:

While stranger things have happened, I doubt staff here will do a ‘manual review’. I’m afraid that you will probably have to wait and appeal as normal.

Thanks for your input! Just to clarify the local infrastructure: this is a quiet Dutch residential street (a 30 km/h traffic-calmed zone). In these specific neighborhoods, a dedicated paved sidewalk is not legally or practically required for safe pedestrian access. Pedestrians safely share the quiet street and can easily step onto the public grass verge to interact with the object

That is something you will need to prove to the appeals staff.

Honestly, my very first thought when I looked at it was “single family residence, not eligible”, and my second thought was “memorial bike, sensitive location”. Getting people to then get past that won’t be easy.

I fully understand why you are struggling to get this accepted, and to be a little blunt, you may need to accept that it simply may never happen.

It looks a bit like a ghost bike memorial which maybe would also be a sensitive location
