Title: Request for Restoration of Wrongly Removed Wayspots in Banbury (OX16)
Hello Niantic Wayfarer Team,
I am writing to formally request a manual review and restoration of two valid community Wayspots in the Banbury (OX16) area that have recently been deleted from the live map.
These locations strictly met all Wayfarer criteria, featuring permanent public installations that encourage outdoor exercise, exploration, and community engagement. Unfortunately, our local area has been dealing with targeted harassment and coordinated malicious false reporting from a small group of individuals attempting to clear out valid map elements.
Could the Trust & Safety team please review the removal logs for these specific wayspots and restore them to the live map, as they were incorrectly taken down due to abusive reporting?
Wayspot Title: Chesham Moor Information Board
Location / Coordinates: Ermont Way / Woburn Close area, Banbury, Oxfordshire (OX16)
Details: A permanent educational display board along a public walking path/footbridge detailing local geography and heritage.
To help with your request, can you provide some current photos of the Information board and the bee marker - the object and some photos showing it in its surroundings. Make sure that it is recording the location and date data. Or you can also use an app that records the location details on the photo.
If you can post the GPS co ordinates here it will be helpful.
I understand this will feel difficult but the staff do look carefully at requests to remove and for reinstatement.
If something has been in a malicious way it will be dealt with under the policies in place as appropriate.
Thank you for the guidance. To assist with the verification and review process, here are the precise GPS coordinates for the two locations in Banbury (OX16):
Chesham Moor Information Board: 52.067602, -1.315528
I have also included the historical acceptance records and map screenshots to help confirm their exact placement along the local pathways. Please let me know if you need anything else to process their reinstatement.
It’s tricky to see from the small photos but they don’t seem to be a good match with streetview. And the same applies to a couple of others in that area.
As I said if you could go out tomorrow and post the new geotagged photos here, it will then give the wayfarer team the info for a decision. It is only staff that decide we can only advise you about what might be needed.
Both of these look like deliberately abusive submissions and I am not at all surprised they were removed once they were reported. You are fortunate not to have been penalised for this.
Can you provide a suitable explanation for how this looks?
