Buttery Brook Trail Marker / Disc Golf

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Buttery Brook Trail Marker 6S (Plus more)
  • Location (lat/lon): 42.217906,-72.577730
  • City: South Hadley
  • Country:USA
  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):
  • Additional Information (if any)

These where previously on the Map as multiple Disc Golf and where correctly removed.

They are now being re-nominated as “Trail Markers”…

I have reported them but removal has been hit or miss.

Abusers gonna abuse. Hope this gets stopped. Not sure why locations aren’t locked once removed, but maybe that is too big of an ask.

I totally agree.

I do see a problem that something is removed but then an eligible POI is submitted close by.

Maybe all nominations within a certain range of a removed POI are sent for “Scopely Review” and make sure that they have all the information from the removed POI.

I can’t see that staffs thoughts are “This used to be a Disc Golf tee and was removed but now that the original nominator says it is now a Trail Marker it’s fine” :frowning:

I do believe that an “Educational Email” at the least is warranted…

This

If they want to go scorched Earth, and get more people upset at fakers, block that cell for an extended period of time for new nominations if a fake Wayspot is discovered and removed. At the very least, that would stop people from just resubmitting right away which is what is happening now. Our friend with the graffiti art without sidewalks resubmitted his and one of them is listed as “reinstated” on my reporting list.

Update.

Would appreciate a comment from staff.

Some have been removed but others are remaining and I am still getting “Rejected” emails regards some reports.

The latest would probably be acceptable as the 1 wayspot per course but it shows how the nominator is using false Titles / Descriptions calling the Disc Golf Course a “Trail”

Removed

Apparently this is a Par 3 Trail :frowning:

Thanks

I have updated the list with current map situation.

EDIT: I had my settings wrong, all are still on the map :frowning:

2 more added to the map :frowning: (updated list)

4 more added :frowning:

Don’t like to tag staff but this is now making a mockery of the map data…

@ScopelyExpAaron could we get an answer on these.

If you are reporting them via individual map reports, have you tried putting all of those you know of that are still live in the corresponding form? It’ll give the staff a much clearer overall picture, it’ll be in line for processing and there won’t be a need to tag Aaron.

Apologies if you already tried doing a grouped report.

I started by reporting them via the map, some where removed but some reports rejected.

That is when I created this post and since then I have kept this post updated with new wayspots.

Will try the abuse form.

Thanks

Sent the report then noticed another new addition :frowning:

If I became aware of a such golf “farm” by way of reviewing, then I’ll try to remember to add a line like “There may be more in the queue” when I submit the form.

No idea if it actually helps or not, but it makes me feel better. :->

Since I am almost always out of report tokens, I tend to keep a list of all known bad wayspots in an area and do a bulk submit via form.

I don’t know if there are any tools that might assist with that. I just use a plain text file.

I started when the 1st couple arrived using Map Report, then the next couple that arrived.

Once I got a couple of Rejection emails I reported the full list (at the time) here and I have updated it since.

I have included the link here when using the Abuse Report Form.

There is

I have received a reply, just need to wait for the maps to catch up and see what actions have been taken…

Edit: Just spotted that it states “Wayspot” and not “Wayspots”, hope that is just a typo.

Map now showing just 1 for the whole course, thanks for all the help and the likes.

The fact that the submitter got greedy means that the 1 for the course happens to be in an occupied cell, without being greedy he would have had the choice to select which to use…
