Church of ECB Bethel (Rejected by mistake)

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Церковь Евангельских Христиан-Баптистов «Вефиль»

  • Location (lat/lon): 49.781336, 73.113534

  • City: Qaragandy

  • Country: Kazakhstan

  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):

  • Additional Information (if any): Hello Niantic.

I am appealing the rejection of this local church. Reviewers rejected it stating there is “no safe pedestrian access” or that it is “restricted to the public”.

However, this is a fully functioning public place of worship (Bethel Evangelical Christian Baptist Church) with an active community and official social media presence. Public places of worship are explicitly listed as eligible community gathering spaces in the Niantic Wayfarer criteria. It features safe pedestrian access via the surrounding sidewalks, and it is open to the public and congregation members during services and community events. Gated hours or specific schedules do not disqualify a church from becoming a Wayspot.

Please review the photos and approve this eligible community location. Thank you!

Hi, this is not how it works. If you would like to submit an appeal to the Wayfarer team in response to a community rejection, you have to do it on the website you are showing screenshots of. You get 2 every 15 days. Otherwise, the community can give feedback on your nomination for a resubmission or an appeal, but for that it’d be great to show your supporting information field and the supporting photos. If you choose to do that I can move this to Nomination Support .

Ok, i will try

There is a general issue with reviewers not understanding “private property”, which is partly because it is very badly explained to them and they have to go hunting for the actual meaning.

This means that things behind locked fences may get rejected incorrectly for lack of access. Appealing is the best solution in this case.

Yes you are right saying gut job
