Hi! I would love to have some help knowing how to sort this out! This pokestop in my city is outdated and I would like to update it and also highlight this cute little coffee shop. I don’t know what the right way to go about this is.
Is it better to edit it to the whole new coffee shop because it’s the same location?
Better to submit a new nomination?
Better to report pokestop, wait for the removal, and submit the coffee shop afterwards?
Or something else?
Thank you any and all help is appreciated. The coffee shop is really cute and definitely a spot worthy of recognition. So this isn’t about its eligibility, it’s more about how I don’t get in trouble for going about this the wrong way, thank you all!
I should clarify: the glacias cafe was located in the now west village cafe, so same location I fear the pictures might be confusion without context <3
The best course is to report the existing Wayspot for removal and submit the new one separately. The order you do that in is up to you - I usually do them at the same time.
The other way, with trying to change the old wayspot to the new point of interest is called “repurposing” and can be considered abuse. Unless the business that was the original point of interest has rebranded, and you have evidence of that.
There was one case where Aaron said that the new business could contact Wayfarer and ask for the Wayspot to be updated. I can dig up that link if you think that would apply.
I didn’t know that was specified, so good info, but in this case the size had changed dramatically and the original pin wasn’t quite correct, so it made sense to start over.
