Cropped so as not to show trainer name, but a scoreboard is not a gathering point.
“Varsity Scoreboards” is a name brand, not something of significance locally.

As I said in my report, the only reason a scoreboard like this one would be eligible is to represent the field itself, and the field already has a Wayspot, Dos Vientos Baseball Field 1 now at 34.175249,-118.982866.

I feel like this one is likely to fall into that same gap between ‘shouldn’t have been accepted’ and ‘not bad enough to be removed’, but it will be interesting to see what staff say.

I believe that staff have made comments that point to saying that additional parts of the field such as these can be acceptable so it’s more likely to fall in to…

“Some such as us and logic say this is a duplicate but others and staff disagree” :frowning:

There are many decisions in Wayfarer that do not make sense to me and it used to be really annoying but I am “trying” to learn to step back, do a silent scream, take a break then come back later.

Good Luck @cyndiepooh

Thanks for the appeal, @cyndiepooh . This Wayspot doesn’t meet our requirements for removal at this time.

Thought so. I have bullpens and scoreboards to submit then. Thanks for the response.

I know @cyndiepooh knows this ( and :people_hugging: as I do understand ) but in case anyone new is reading this…..

This is a decision on this individual wayspot.

The decision was around whether this specific wayspot meets removal criteria.

This is different as to whether something is eligible and acceptable, as agreed on via nomination review. There is no implied change to those criteria.

You say this to defend staff every time. But they know that every decision they make affects what is on the game board. If bullpens, scoreboards, and neighborhood signs are allowed to remain on the game board, that is de facto confirmation that Wayfarer staff consider them acceptable.

Wayspot appeals are evaluated against removal criteria, and every appeal decision is based on the facts of that particular report only. These are not to be considered a criteria clarification at all.

I stand by my statement if you quote the whole thing.

The removal criteria are not (and should not be) publicised. However, it is fairly likely that “duplicate wayspot” is a valid reason for removal.

The failure to remove bullpens, scoreboards and players benches for baseball fields means that Scopely Explore do not see these as duplicates (i.e., as proxies for the baseball field itself).

This de-facto means that they are not duplicates but are separately eligible, even though they are not a separate thing as far as Exercise is concerned.

The missing text is “de facto”, which changes the meaning of what you have quoted.

Actually, isn’t this comparable to golf courses?

A golf course is eligible for a single wayspot, because you use the entire course.

All elements of a baseball field are used together as a single activity. You cannot have one group of players using the scoreboard, a separate group of players using the bullpen and a separate group using the baseball field itself.
