Not listing it as a bug just yet but I seem to be getting a lot of duplicate submission coming up for review after they have been approved. The are the exact same submission, description, supporting, photos etc.
The are not aligned to a certain area as I have had it happen in my regular location and my bonus location which is in another country.
Has anyone else noticed this or has it already been reported and I missed the thread?
It is most likely due to this issue.
Possibly along the same line but these were recent submissions. Some of them were fine, a few were not but every time they reappeared in the review flow they were already showing as approved in the map, where 1st time round, maybe a day or so ago, they were not showing.
It could also be that people get impatient and keep submitting
Or people are trying to force things through, hoping one set of voters approves when they usually don’t
Yup, this would be my guess. People queuing up multiples to try and force them through. Hopefully the system picks up on it and they get a slap on the wrist to discourage this approach.
Having read your response, I reread the post, properly this time, and entirely agree with your suggested explanation.
Again possible but normally when you see stuff like that there is a pattern to the submissions and they are generally all In the same place. These are mainly multiple different areas.
If they were borderline submissions or just plain bad I’d say that was the case but most have been decent submissions that wouldn’t normally have much issue getting accepted, sports field, a gym, a statue, church etc.
I checked them all out on the 1st pass and all were ok and I approved most of them I think.
Not saying it’s not that case. It anytime I’ve come across that before they were just bad submissions.
Finding duplicates of decent submissions is harder to explain than duplicates of borderline or downright bad submissions. I’d go back to the issue that @cyndiepooh pointed at.
Yes, I agree. That’s why I’m wondering if it is something else because the submissions were decent. From reading the post @cyndiepooh directed me to it seemed to be old submissions that were rejected being reactivated…if I understood it.
Some of these were pretty up to date as one of them from a town over here would be pretty new, only a few weeks old at most.
The thing with it is everyone of them I have come across is showing as accepted. I will start screenshotting any I come across as up to make i just thought the were 1 offs but I’ve had a decent amount of them now.
Brand new objects often show up too. Multiple wayfarers see it and all submit.
It may be a combination of all these things
it might be worth comparing the second submission details with the accepted wayspot details to see if it is an actual full-on duplicate or a different submission (as @SpindaHuntr suggested might be happening).
The ones I’ve come across are Identical. Photos, description, supporting etc.
I’ll keep an eye on it and see how it goes. It’s not every submission so may have been a issue that was there and has now been resolved.
