Gym creation are supposed to be random. And since a new gym already got promoted, afaik this will remain as pokestop
This is not possible unfortunately. Gyms are selected at random and Niantic on this forum have previously stated that wayfarer cannot circumvent this.
Unfortunately, we do not have the tools to control what type of in-game location it will become. We appreciate your understanding.

Its not falsely removed. Your friend remove it based on evidence.

There is no option for reinstatement as a gym. The person your friend knows made a bad joke and this is the consequence.

What happen now is consequences of your friend’s report.
Frustration is understandable after what has happened here, but the people posting on this thread are only trying to help.

I do have some other notable things nearby, could they have a chance to become a new gym?
It appears that that area should have two gyms, so it is likely (but not guaranteed) that another wayspot will become a gym shortly.
If it doesn’t, a new pokestop acceptance should trigger a second gym, but it will be selected at random.
Don’t expect any new pokestops to become the gym. It’s possible, but too low a chance to rely on it.
I remember it being 1 in 6 to become a gym, is this correct?
Technically 1/5 because 1 is ald gym.
Gym are created at 2,6,20 wayspots
when you reach 2 in a level 14 cell = 1 stop and 1 gym
when you reach 6 in a level 14 cell= 4 stops and 2 gyms
Community observations
So with the first two pokestops, each one has a 50% chance. When you reach 6, each pokestop (excluding the gym) has a 20% chance. When you reach 20, it’s around 5.5% chance for each pokestop.
Also, how long does it take on average for the pokestop/gym to appear? It’s not here yet
Allow a few days. Niantic have said it has been reinstated, so I would expect this to be a a few hours at minimum and wouldn’t be concerned until 3+ days have passed.
