Someone needs to teach me the how and not the what, first. I am struggling because I need to know the entire system before I use it. I constantly feel as if I am walking on broken glass.
Wayfarer is not the big scary monster some places would have you think.
I have not heard of anybody getting sanctions for nominating something that is real but not very good. You may get an “Educational Email” that explains that what you are nominating does not meet criteria and you should re-read about them.
People get sanctions when they are trying to manipulate the map…
- Trying to place something where it doesn’t exist.
- Using AI or other methods to “invent” a point of interest.
- Using photos that they did not take themselves (3rd Party Images).
- Falsifying the information (claiming it’s an Historic Shelter when it’s a Bus Stop built last week
).
Many people on these forums have many years experience, use it…
Suggestion 1:
- I posted about the criteria on your other post. Use that to find something you think meets that criteria.
- Take an image of it plus an extra 1 showing the Point of Interest and its surrounding (if you use the web submit you can have 5 “Supplemental” photos. Do not post these anywhere else apart from nominating and these forums.
- Make a post in “Nomination Support”, show the photos and what you plan to use as Title, Description and Supplemental Info. Also show the Location (Long / Lat works best).
- People here will advise, whether that is “It’s good to go”, what you should change to improve it’s chances or even that it isn’t suitable and you should forget it.
Suggestion 2:
- Create a post again in “Nomination Support”.
- State the location (Long / Lat works best).
- State that you are looking for Suggestions to nominate.
- People here will look at the maps and make suggestions.
- Unfortunately, some places just don’t have anywhere suitable but it is rare.

There is definitely effort required to learn what makes a good Wayspot.
I’m also confused but will give it a try.
To submit a waypoint there are 2 main methods. Either make the submission while playing pogo by clicking settings, uploads, new pokestop. Then follow the steps. At the end you can choose to upload now or upload later. Always make sure you have a strong signal before uploading and use upload later to do it at home over strong wifi if your cell service is spotty at the time.
The other way is to sign in on wayfarer at https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/ This is also where you can set your review areas, review other random people’s nominations, edit your submissions and see your profile. Using the 3 bars on the left, open the menue and click submit. Then follow the instructions to either make a draft that can be edited later or submit a new nomination. For both these methods you can only make a nomination that is within 10km of your current location but if you make a draft while at the location then you can edit it from anywhere before submitting it, as long as you don’t move the pinned location more that 80m.

Again I’m tearing up that someone is helping me..
I did not know this message system existed.
The words that are used to label app functions and menus are nonsensical.
It’s labeled community.. why would anyone understand what that is or what it’s for in context without understanding the process?
I’m learning.. not a boomer here. I am afraid of the unknown though..
I do not mesh with the biometrics in this app.
It took me 7 years to figure out I could communicate with anyone. I have a lot of training, I was an internet technician for MindSpring/ EarthLink.. I ran a BBS.. I was an internet pirate, I studied programming.. I’m an aware person.
It makes zero sense to name a forum “community”

If apps change the words of what something is called I get instantly lost. It blows my mind how un natural this app is laid out. There’s no way to get alerts to my phone for the forum messages?
Or is there? 
It’s what we do here. Nothing better than someone coming here frustrated because things are not going as expected, take the advise and hopefully return later with their success stories.
Not sure where you are looking but if you mean here on the forums then it is for a community of like minded people that enjoy wayfarer (sometimes more than the games )
I am not far off (Gen X) but I am still learning new things everyday.
I became a regular on the forum because I couldn’t follow it either. It helped to change my settings in my profile under “interface” to this
And I still have to check every new post as it pops up marked “new” for me, and mark the topic as “Watching” if I ever want to see it again. I figured it was just my lack of experience with forums. I can’t follow Reddit at all.
There is a section in your preferences for emails. You can see if any of the options there are something you want. Maybe this one

Also, it’s at the bottom, on the left..nothing about the biometrics on this app is natural at all.
The could have used an icon of anything and I would have checked into it sooner. Without knowing this is a “community app” that does not connect in my mind at all. It’s a forum.. call it that?

After reading comments we spoke with the park manager. A bench, a small library, possibly a picnic table, can be added. It’s all of my responsibility, though. I’m disabled physically. The least amount of real world work is preferable.
The GPS is seriously bad here.The address listed is one of the old timber built homes. The numbers are Absolutely 
wrong and off. The delivery people can not find my address. I have to make sure they are familiar with the area so they don’t give my packages to the neighbors on the other road. I’m not concerned about giving out my my location.
I never seen it so bad.
Most places are between 6" and 20" off.. this area, and for miles around, is off my 30 feet. The area I’m building 2.4 miles up the road is also off by 30 feet.

I’m finding out so much information. You are all helping me learn. I’m more concerned about not needing to leave my house because of my physical problems but, an education is golden and I am applying it to my newest submissions.
Unfortunately, the game you are playing is Pokemon GO and it’s main objective is to get people to Go out and interact with the outside world and other people.
I also have health issues that limit how often I can go out and how far. This was the reason I started playing Pokemon Go as it encourages me to get out when it is possible.
Various things can disrupt a GPS signal, but the coordinates themselves are not affected. Never rely on the GPS from your phone when submitting a wayspot - always check the location yourself.
(I have been sitting in a leisure centre with my GPS putting my phone in a different leisure centre four miles away, even without connecting to the wifi service that my phone was obviously using to determine its location).
I can’t believe I need to defend myself.
I do 3-7 routes daily.
This is about freedom to choose and not be inconvenienced by my own health needs. That’s if we’re talking about me. I would love to not loose a streak just because I can’t walk for a day or I can’t go outside because of air quality or I need to be near a toilet so I can puke or dry heave from my daily migraine headaches.
I’m actively crying man.. this hurts.. I played the game for 10 years and I have to leave my house to do it. The majority of players have no clue what kind of struggle that is mentally, let alone the idea of being physically disabled in multiple ways.
I work extremely hard to keep my autonomy. I started getting migraine headaches and I had degenerative joints by the time I was 8 years old. Life is a serious serious struggle for me and I love it.
I don’t believe I’m asking for anything beyond the scope of a normal person. So, if you want to tell me about how Pokémon Go is a “GO” game.. it makes me cry. I’m crying because, I’m tired of struggling. I’m going to completely quit a game that I love because, I can not physically keep up with it.
If I can not get a quality of life improvement soon, I’m shutting down everything. I should not need to stress over spinning a stop or changing a bandage on a wound.. at least..it would be nice to not have to get in my car..
Now, that’s about just me.. I’m just one person. There is an entire community heret that want to interact with the game.

I was comparing my position to Google maps. Google maps is off and also drawn incorrectly.
I actually submitted several reports that fixed some of it but not the wrong house numbers.
Where did I say this, You are the one implying.
As stated I also have health issues which means I have days when I can’t leave the house. Pokemon Go encourages me to go out When I Can.
I don’t have any stops that I can spin from home but I am not asking for people to change the game just for me.
There is always the balloons to source items, opening gifts from the friends list etc.
There are lots of games that I can no longer partake in due to health issues, my footballing days are over for a start…
You seem to being judgemental yourself, you have totally ignored that I stated that I also have health issues that mean I can not go out all the time and I lose streaks.
Do not make this all about yourself, Remember that Pokemon Go is a Worldwide Game and unfortunately this means that not everyone can play in the same way and some not at all.
I did believe that I had put in effort to my replies to try and help but now it feels that you are not wanting that help. I will step back from this thread.
My entire point was that disability is irrelevant in the world of Pokémon Go. My second point was that there is too much opinion and overreach in the system.
There is no trainer for this system. I wasn’t aware there was a forum for several years. I can’t even find a YouTube video to watch that is not opinion oriented.
Now, beyond that, I’m not asking for anyone to change the game or make exceptions for me. I want true understanding of the system without the bias I get from everyone. I realize THAT will never happen.
I get mixed responses and theory from people.
Some people are very knowledgeable.
I do not want to make mistakes.
I do not want to waste my time.
I want a clear visible and viable path to success with having to walk backwards.
Let’s talk about what you missed by focusing on me instead of my words. I am genuinely upset for others and embarrassed that several years have gone by without a Pokéstop. It has become a point of contention among local players. They don’t understand the generation of Pokéstops at all and they are relying on me. The location I am trying to get approved is not close enough to my house without needing to walk a good 1000 feet from my front door to reach it to spin.
All you needed to hear is that the community wants and needs a stop. I don’t understand why you have to comment “about my struggle” because when you did so, you put my situation in a negative light.
Many many many players have a a stop close to their house. Your comment was unwarranted and unfair.
That is incredibly depressing..
Don’t admonish someone for wanting a stop.
That IS my biggest fear about THIS forum. I have to be exsposed to hurt feelings and getting my feelings hurt just because i might not understand something or someone doesn’t like what i am trying to create.
Nobody wants a health coach or to be admonished in a technical forum.

Posting but not responding to any specific post.
Being a wayfinder has its ups and downs and not only is each wayspot unique so is the experience that each wayfinder will have. We each invest our time and efforts, the drivers may be different but in the end it does take a personal investment.
I think it is best to put aside the personal aspects when we can - I don’t believe that anyone means anything negative, tone and nuance are often one of the things lost in forum exchanges.
I always return to my 3 tenets: is it necessary, is it truthful, is it kind.
Perhaps we can reset the conversation and focus again on the practicalities of trying to find and submit in areas that have very little. It is never going to produce a huge feast but looking for different perspectives, different eyes at the same problem might produce a few nuggets to go on.
