How is it determined which nomination shows up in pokemon go?

[MUSTANG17OREO]

I have 2 nominations that were just accepted a week ago, but they are not showing up in pokemon go. I understand the email says that not all nominations will show up in all niantic games, but does anybody know how that works? I am literally only submitting these nominations for pokemon go and it has been a pain to get any approved and now that I have its been a week and neither of hem have shown up and I also have been waiting 5 days for 2 others that got accepted.

Why an accepted Wayspot may not be used in Pokemon Go (S2 cells and Pokemon Go)

tldr: See this article for an explanation of S2 cells: https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/ [Updated July 6, 2026] Although the Pokemon Go in-game prompts suggest that you submit a new “Pokestop,” you actually submit a new *Wayspot* to the database. Just a note that each nomination should have a unique title.

TAMUSA-The Story Behind the Ring 29.303621,-98.525037 is in the same L17 S2 cell as the pokestop Spanish And Mexican Land Grants so is not eligible.

This TAMU-SA CAB BUILDING SIGN 29.303118,-98.524654 is in the same cell as the Pokestop TAMU-SA: Rotunda and so is TAMU-SA Recreational Sports Welcome Sign 29.303374,-98.524565

I haven’t found the other one yet, but am going to go ahead and post this much. Thinking maybe you copied one twice.

Almost all cells are occupied

I changed the background on this map to make it easier to see the shaded cells that are occupied already. Never use knowledge of S2 cells to pin something there if it isn’t really there, but you can use this knowledge to know where to look for points of interest to submit.
