There really isn’t a “typical” answer we can give you. The “automated process” machine learning model can reject a nomination 20-24 hours after submission, but it cannot approve them. A lot can depend on how many submitters and how many reviewers you have in your area. I see most people reporting around a week or two, but it can take up to six months. Or just a day or two.
You can help speed up the queue by reviewing nominations yourself. Not only do you clear out other submissions, but you can earn an upgrade to apply to your nomination when you get decision agreements. The upgrade will send the submission to a wider voting review pool, which usually means a faster decision. If you are somewhere with not many reviewers, we have seen staff pull undecided ones that are 4-6 months old into internal review. I haven’t seen any reports of nominations taking longer than 7 months in a long, long time.
