Nomination was denied, VQ-3 Ironman mascot

I had a nomination that was denied because 1. Private property, and 2. Claiming that it was a non-permanent structure, which neither was true? It was a permanent structure of VQ-3’s Ironman mascot permanently suspended on the side of the government building, there’s a bunch of other similar stops in the area but I’m guessing sinces its Ironman that people thought it was promotional material or something? Would it be worth appealing it or is it more trouble then its worth?

Hi, welcome - it’s almost impossible to tell you if “worth appealing” without seeing the entire nomination. I would suggest sharing what you submitted and the rejection reasons.

Note that “not permanent or distinct” also has a “distinct” component in it.

I would have thought it’s temporary as well. It’s not enough to submit an eligible nomination, but also evidence to support it. Are there for example old Google maps photos?

The google maps truck never goes to this area since it’s a government installation, but it hasn’t stopped all the other pokestops here.

I feel like a giant ironman suspended by metal wire is a pretty distinct land mark tbh.

Is this on a military base?

I usually skip base nominations, as I have no frame of reference for which areas are operational, and which are private quarters, two places I would reject. I did check out the suggested location, and must say that this cluster of wayspots looks suspicious.

Without really good supporting photos proving location, and possibly links as well talking about this installation as permanent, I probably would have found a reason to reject, too.

Why does this look suspicious? 5 waypoints, of which only 2 are stops. 4 are inside, which appears to be valid, and one is valid outside.

It’s not that odd that the entrance of an environment has the most interesting points.

There’s a lot of art and landmarks at the entrance.

Little things like all the Wayspots being in one place start to add up, especially when we haven’t seen the supporting information proving location.

Just trying to point out how this may look to reviewers.

Tinker AFB, there’s stops and landmarks at every base I’ve ever been to so it shouldn’t effect that, especially since people live here and play pogo all the time in the instalation.

Its slightly off, that’s the little mini mart located at that spot in the building right there. In google maps its called “the geedunk” and has reviews.

It is in an area accessible to military and families, they actually just had a navy family community day here, and like I said, they have a mini mart that does business with the members and families here at this building.
