Hi,
The wayspots with a white outer ring will not be used as either Pokestops or Gyms as they are in an already occupied cell.
The reason is explained at https://community.wayfarer.scopely.com/t/why-an-accepted-wayspot-may-not-be-used-in-pokemon-go-s2-cells-and-pokemon-go
What’s the app name? I want to know about that square area. to know im gonna put another pokestop and not put it if already added
It’s the official Wayfarer map with an unofficial community-made S2 cell overlay. You can search for “Wayfarer Tools” to find more information.
Just keep in mind that S2 cells are a community-discovered Pokémon GO inclusion rule, not an official Wayfarer eligibility rule, and Wayspots must always be placed at their correct real-world location.
The link above is likely to be removed as we are not allowed to link to 3rd party tools.
A google search for “Wayfarer Tools” will find what you are looking for.
Remember that even if it doesn’t become a Pokestop or Gym it may be used as a Dynamax Powerspot.
Hey, I just want to thank you for helping me.
I’ve been in this system a very long time and most of the replies have been sterile.
Do you know of a video I could watch on explaining the wayfarer system. The content creators I have watched are horrible teachers.
If I can understand the system I can navigate it.
I’m just now understanding how to use wayfarer because they lock us out. Nobody can learn like that and I truly hate this entire system. How does someone learn something when it’s not there till later? I mean.. first Glace at this
, i saw nothing.
Now, I get the tools and access after a year???
No man, that is pure e v i l.
Nobody with a
thinks like that.
Nobody learns like that.
I can’t tell you how enlightened I am that someone replied with a proper answer.
I don’t know what to do about “this” picture attached.
Thank you. I will be more prompt about interacting.
I had no clue you replied.
This is a serious issue.
We have several players that don’t want to drive 3 miles to the first Pokéstop.
This has been rejected over and over. The appeals were rejected. There is some kind of location block that says it’s private property. I don’t understand why other communities can have Pokéstops but we can not. All submissions get rejected. We can’t get a birdhouse to pass in the area.
thank you!!!
I can’t really follow most of your post, but a birdhouse would not typically be eligible. It is not a great place to exercise or be social. The only criteria it could possibly meet would be “exploration” and really, a bird house is something that should be left alone, not have people drawn to it.
This is the link to all the criteria they shared in the email: Wayspot Criteria — Wayfarer Help Center
Be sure to look at all four sections.
A quick glance on the map tell me that this is going to be a difficult situation for finding eligible locations. It looks lovely, but most of the area appears to be residential or farmland.
There is a topic started here with ideas for things to look for: Tips for Rural Nominators
Another idea @frealafgb often shares is to think about places you regularly go, and see if you can find more to submit there.
Ok, I appreciate your help.![]()
Do you understand that a Birdhouse IS in the list of criteria for submission???
What are you talking about???
People sit and watch the birds?
This is the exact reason I dislike this system.
Opinion should not override common sense.
An area for bird watching might work. Please show me the seating area. I don’t see it in your photo.
(I don’t see the bird house either tbh)
First, Please be respectful to people trying to help. Some areas just don’t have places to nominate and it is not peoples here’s fault.
For the Bird House, if anything it would be it’s artistic look but if local Reviewers have looked and Rejected then sometimes you have to accept that it is not suitable.
The problems I see are…
- Is this on Private Land?
- Bird Houses should not be approached, this can spook the parent birds that then abandoned the chicks.
- What I would class as a Bird Watching area is where the people are placed in a hide or behind a screen.
I don’t see where a Bird House is in the Criteria, not looked for a while but if it’s in the Categories that you select when nominating through the game these are not criteria. They include several that are 100% ineligible such as Schools.
Benches are not easy nominations, standard benches should be Rejected. Only Artistic, “dedicated to a notable figure” or those used as an anchor point for a Scenic View should be nominated but it is down to the submitter to show evidence of these.
To be honest, All of these items look like the sort of stuff you could buy from a garden centre and put them together in your garden. I would struggle to Accept it.
What sort of trails have you been nominating?
Are these official trails which could be verified on a website?
Often the issue with trails in wooded areas is checking the location.
An app that puts a the location details on the photo can help. This can then be one of the supplementary photos.
If you use websubmit ( from the wayfarer website) you can have up to 5 images for the supplementary and this can help in these circumstances. this could be one with the location details, a screen shot of the route of the trail ( include the link in the supplementary text) plus some more photos to show the marker from different angles to help orientate where it is.
I agree with everything up to the point of ascetics.
This is the number 1 contention that I have with people reviewing way points.
You just judged someones creation.
It was not good enough for you.
Let that sit with you. You are judging someone’s contributions to the community that are technically art.
Privilege has people twisted in this system.
The issue with the stop is not because of people voting for it, "that I know of:. The system has this entire area locked out. Many people have tried to make way points in this general location.
I made a historical way point near by but it’s not close to the community. I’m really tired of being asked why I can’t get a Pokéstop from the community.
So, I am niave about much. I am doing my due diligence to understand this for many people.
The others have given up.
I apologize if I come off as hostile? That is not my intention at all.. you are hearing 7 years of idk what to do about it.
Here is my best candidate (pictures attached)
It is rejected because of some lock
on the location. Just like the birdhouse.
Also, THANK YOU for explaining that there are things on the criteria list that are immediate rejected!! That *HAS* enlightened me!!!
Very helpful!
What app? Link please?
Please ignore the list of categories that Pokemon Go shows you when you submit a wayspot. This list is meaningless, useless, confusing and pointless. It does not indicate eligibility.
Your area is not locked out - it may simply not have anything eligible. Possibly you don’t understand the criteria well enough to know what is actually eligible.
I use GPSmapcamera.
It is free.
