Our church bought the property two churches had been on 3-5 years ago. There were 2 existing Pokestops on the propert. I requested the stops names be changed from the two old churches to our church. One request was accepted and one was denied. I appealed and asked for a reason why- it was rejected again. Does anyone know why this would be?
Welcome to the forum.
Ownership changes like this are tricky. Repurposing a Wayspot away from what was originally approved can be considered abuse.
However, staff have said that the new owners could make a request that would be considered. Did you make the request as the church management, or as a regular Wayfinder?
If you didn’t do it this way before, you can have church management reach out using this form:
If it’s still a church, just with a new name, I personally wouldn’t consider that repurposing (staff, please do correct me if that’s wrong!)
I would first edit the description, and put in additional information regarding the change of management, the date this happened and mentioning the current name.
If that is accepted, changing the title via the usual means should be a lot easier.
I agree with your premise but would politely disagree with the conclusion in light of our policies.
It is a different object altogether. So, it needs to be evaluated on its own merit. Think of it this way, what if the new church has a school on its property? This is why it needs to be vetted independently.
Hope it answers your questions.
Cheers!
Fair enough, thank you for the correction!
Let’s call it an explanation ![]()
