Previously Accepted Wayspot Has Disappeared from Pokémon GO and Wayfarer Map

Hi Wayfarer Team,

I’m hoping someone can help me investigate a Wayspot that has recently disappeared.

This Wayspot was previously approved and had been an active PokéStop in Pokémon GO for some time. However, I’ve recently noticed that it has completely disappeared from the game.

I checked my nomination history in Wayfarer, and the original submission is still marked as Accepted. However, when I checked the Wayfarer map, the Wayspot was also missing from its original location.

I’m unsure whether the Wayspot has been removed, relocated, or affected by a technical issue, as I haven’t received any notification or explanation.

Could a member of the Wayfarer team please investigate and confirm:

  1. Whether the Wayspot has been removed or relocated.

  2. If removed, the reason for its removal.

  3. Whether it is eligible for reinstatement at its original location.

I’m happy to provide screenshots of the accepted nomination and any additional information required.

Thank you for your assistance!

Welcome to the forum

When a wayspot is removed, the accepted submission is not changed, since the submission was accepted. This is why looking at your nomination history doesn’t help.

This location is single-family private residential property (SFPRP) and is strictly ineligible. The wayspot should not have been accepted. It will have been reported and Scopely Explore will have correctly removed it.

I cannot see a mural here, although streetview could be out of date. Given the location is obviously SFPRP and would have been an easy rejection, I do not see how this got accepted.

It is not eligble for reinstatement. Do not resubmit this.

I understand. I won’t attempt to resubmit. The mural itself is new. It is part of the community initiative the nearby primary school I work at is part of (Go MP!). We got a lot of positive feedback from the nearby Kingston road murals. I just checked my residency nearby and it Google Maps is definitely out of date. Do I have to wait to for Google Maps to update?

Even on the boundary fence of single family private residential property facing the sidewalk or street is ineligible. Are you saying that the neighborhood where this is pinned is not single family private residential property?

You do not have to wait until a point of interest appears on Google Maps to submit it. The issue here is that the pin you gave appears to be an ineligible location.

Some lovely murals get painted which are on the exterior walls of single-family private residential property. These are never eligible and will always get removed if anyone reports them.

Ok, now I understand. Thank you for explaining it  I will be more diligent in future.
