Request for manual restoration of wrongfully deleted Wayspots

Subject: Request to manually restore wrongfully deleted Wayspots & review location edits
Message:
Dear Wayfarer Team,
I am contacting you regarding a series of recent automated system errors that resulted in the wrongful deletion of valid Wayspots in my area (Sissach, Switzerland).
A location edit for an existing Wayspot triggered an automated S2 cell recalculation and photo mismatch flag, which subsequently wiped out multiple nearby legitimate POIs (including local landmarks and artwork) that strictly comply with Wayfarer criteria.
As community members, we spend a lot of time and effort accurately mapping POIs to improve the Lightship network. Having valid Wayspots deleted automatically due to automated system triggers—rather than actual policy violations—is extremely discouraging.
I kindly ask you to:
Manually review and restore the wrongfully removed Wayspots in this location.
Apply any necessary location corrections manually on your end to prevent further automated deletion chain-reactions.

Hello and welcome @SK0rpNx

It would help your case if you can provide additional details for the Wayfarer Team ( they will have names starting ScopelyExp…)

Can you provide approx GPS coordinates ( numerical latitude and longitude)

If simply a recalculation has happened by Pokémon Go of their selection / inclusion rules then please beware it is unlikely that there will be any change as that simply means you will currently have the correct situation and what you had previously was wrong. I appreciate this might not be what you want to hear but it is most likely to be the case.

If this is the area, it looks like the recalculation is correct:

and this area as well (47.462649,7.804254)

Are the Wayspots removed from the Wayfarer Map, or are you talking about gyms and pokestops not being in game. This difference impacts the situation greatly.

Thank you for the guidance!
Here are the approximate GPS coordinates for both affected Wayspots in Sissach:
Location 1: 47.4618281, 7.8083124
Location 2: 47.4618167, 7.8077502
To clarify the situation for the team:
This was not a case of normal S2-cell rule enforcement. The removal happened due to an automated system cascade triggered by a photo mismatch flag during a location edit on an adjacent Wayspot.
Both affected POIs (including the coat of arms / Wappen) are valid, standalone real-world objects that do not violate proximity rules on their own. They were wiped out solely due to this automated trigger chain.
I kindly request a manual review by the Scopely/Niantic team to verify the location history in the database, fix the photo assignments, and restore these legitimate Wayspots.

Sorry but what is this even supposed to mean? “Automated system cascade triggered by a photo mismatch flag” is a word salad that is not a feature of Wayfarer and not something we know to be possible. Whatever AI tool you are using is completely misleading you both on what is possible in Wayfarer and about the reasons removals usually happen, and doesn’t really help you make your case for your appeal. Usually when making an appeal you would instead bring evidence that the object for the wayspot is still here, that it has public access, that it is not on single-family private residential property, etc (depending on what the possible contentious element would have been here). Please show that evidence and we will move this post to Wayspot Appeals .

You are very welcome to write in your own language, there are plenty of German speakers here and an automated translation tool is available.

Where they placed in an accurate position? for example I see that the wayspot at this location is clearly misplaced (47.461625, 7.806665)?

Edit:

I don’t see anything that could be a wayspot at

Or

Hallo zusammen,

Okay, this one clearly does exist, it is in a safe place, maybe not a great wayspot, but I don’t understand why it would be removed.

It exists, but it looks to be in the exact same place as what appears to be a public defibrillator. This may have been removed due to the perception that it could impede emergency access.

The other one is here:

I’m wondering if that might have been considered SFPRP? Seems a bit cruel if so as that looks more like part of the shared car parking area.

As for the idea that this was an automated thing, I still doubt it. Making a sub and then immediately adding a new picture might well have resulted in a human doing a brief check on the area.

agree, doesn’t look like SFPRP

If that yellow box is a defibrillator, then yes, they technically are.

Vielen Dank!

Indeed:

Coolio, I couldn’t tell
