Ty for the link. I remember other reorganizations where people we had come to depend on, and even think of as friends, were let go. This is always hard, and I hope as many people as possible can be retained.
Now that Naintic has officially sold Pogo and some other games to the Saudis, what will happen to the wayfarer community and nominations?
Hi, as there is already a thread on this subject, just letting you know I have merged your post to it.
Note that there isn’t much that is known yet.
The Wayfarer Community are throwing a massive global party. Free drinks, snacks, music, etc. This is just a rumour at the moment. ![]()
Looks like 68 people are being laid off, according to this article. I’m thinking good thoughts for those affected.

Anyone notice the new Submit section on the Wayfarer website?
Ingress isn’t listed, just PoGo. Also, they use Wayspot first, then at the end Pokestop in the graphic with the QR code…
Just notice. And rejection explanation also got more wording
This would be welcome in really rural areas where the chance of finding more than one thing that fits current criteria is few and far between. I have built up my own area a lot over the past number of years but we have several areas where there are plenty of poi but all in The same area so trying to expand the game board to other areas of the town is a challenge as you might have 4-5 eligible items all in one spot then nothing for 500m-1k then maybe 1 more then nothing for about the same distance, in between you may have something that could work as an anchor but it is either grey area out currently just not inside criteria.
Within reason though, don’t want to see random rubbish bins and street lamps being allowed but maybe loosen generic business in smaller areas or something else that can allow expansion of the game board.
For instance we have a walking route in the town the covers a few Kms…but not a single thing along it that you could currently submit as a wayspot. Even listening Benches would help on that one as it would automatically give about 4 positions on that route immediately. Still a lot of empty space but a step in the right direction excuse the pun.
Thanks @AliceWonder1511 to cross posting our official announcement here. I encourage anyone who still has questions to ask them in the related discussion
In my opinion, ingress has some disgruntled players.
Be careful what you say about the Ingress players. Whilst there are some disgruntled players, not all are alike. In fact some of the Ingress Players I interact with have gone above and beyond in helping me when I haven’t even asked. Their knowledge is more valuable than you think.
