Title Change Rejection Appeal

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Cheeni Mural

  • Location (lat/lon): 35.893330, -78.862888

  • City: Durham, NC

  • Country: US

  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):

  • Additional Information (if any):
I submitted a title edit for this Wayspot that was rejected. Right now, the Wayspot is named “Cheeni Mural”. Cheeni is the name of the Indian restaurant next to the mural, but the restaurant has nothing to do with the mural itself. The actual name of the mural, as named by the artist, is “Desire Path,” so I submitted an edit to change the name of the Wayspot to “Desire Path”. Please see this website dedicated to this mural: Desire Path - Hub RTP
I believe the Wayspot should be titled what the actual artist that painted it wants it to be titled, in order to respect the artist of the mural. Naming the Wayspot after some random restaurant next to the mural seems borderline disrespectful to the original artist of the mural.

Hello and Welcome,

Maybe “Desire Path - Mural” would have been better?

Good Luck

Welcome to the forum.

The Wayspot Appeals category is not for making appeals for rejected submissions.

You make an appeal through your contributions page https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/nominations

We get 2 appeals, each on a 15 day counter before we can use them again. If you don’t have the appeal button on your contribution, you need to wait to get one back. On nominations for new wayspots, I usually recommend trying a resubmit before using an appeal, but on title or description edits where I really need to explain, I don’t find resubmits to be any more successful.

What you might want to do instead is use a form to explain the request. There are two forms linked at the top of the forum.
