UX: Rejection email offers an appeal, but the UI blocks it

Hi Wayfarer Team,

I want to report a UX issue regarding the automated rejection emails and the actual website interface.

Date first experienced: September 29, 2026
Device type, model, and OS: Mac, macOS Golden Gate 27.0 (26A428) + Google Chrome 153.0.8010.53 (arm64)

Description of the issue: Recently, a nomination of mine was rejected after a Wayfarer review. The automated rejection email I received explicitly states that an appeal is possible: “Если вы считаете, что номинация уже соответствует всем критериям, вы можете подать апелляцию в Niantic…” (If you believe the nomination meets all criteria, you can appeal to Niantic…).

However, on the Wayfarer management page, the “Appeal” button is completely unavailable for this nomination. I understand that the system intentionally blocks appeals after a direct Wayfarer review, but the email template does not reflect this.

I don’t know if this is a bug or a feature. It would be a great quality-of-life improvement if the automated email templates could be adjusted to match the actual platform functionality (e.g., removing the appeal instruction for cases where the UI will block it).

I’ve attached screenshots of the email and the UI for reference. Thanks for looking into this!

Is it possible you’ve already used up your appeals (the limit is 2 appeals per 15 days) ?

If you have not yet appealed this, you can appeal it, but only if you have an appeal slot available. You have two appeal slots, each of which comes back 15 days after being used. You may have used both appeal slots recently.

If you have already appealed, you cannot appeal again.

Hey @christmascookie ,

You can appeal a maximum of two contributions every 15 days. I see that you have used up both your appeals in the last 15 days. As a result, you will not be able to appeal now.

Thanks,
