Hi all
This following Wayspot (not mine) was approved but never became a Pokestop. Idk if it’s due to sharing the cell or not, but either way the address is wrong and it might get in the game if it is input correctly. The correct address would be 540 Haywood Glen Dr and should be more northwest, since the entrance for the clubhouse of the pool is at Haywood Glen Dr. is the official address of the pool and it has a sign informing it in case someone needs to call 911.
Is it possible to fix the address and maybe see if it gets in the game? Sorry, new here and just picked up from where someone left thank you!
The Wayspots for the pool and the playground are unfortunately placed for Pokemon Go, but the pool does not appear to be clearly wrong to me. It does share a cell with the playground the way they were pinned, but staff only do location edits to correct a wayspot in the real world. I am more concerned about the playground wayspot. It looks too close to the road. The more logical place for the pin would be at the entrance from the parking area. I always caution people against moving things only for cell manipulation, but I would suggest this location edit if there is a gate at that end. I can’t tell from street view.
This information board for the community I see in street view would be a good thing to submit.
Never submit anything away from where it actually exists to put it in a free cell, but if this exists here where I put the pin, it should be in an empty cell.
If it is, this could be a good nomination, and would also be in an empty cell.
And on the adjacent street, there are several things I would submit. I see a cornhole court, a playground, and a seating circle. All of these could be pinned in empty cells.

Actually now I see the Playground was not pinned the best way… but I think I won’t mess with that and take your suggestions for new spots. You are an angel since I’m new I’m afraid of moving the playground one and lose the only Gym at the community. I’ll submit the other you suggested yes there’s a picnic place and another playground that I was already thinking about submitting
Cyndie… I ended up asking to place the gym in a more appropriated location, it was approved, went to a different cell, the Pool appeared as a Pokestop … but the Gym was downgraded to a Pokestop. Now we have 2 stops and no Gym. I feel awful now. A lot of people used that Gym. nd worse, the Pokemon in there won’t come back right? I feel bad. I shouldn’t have moved it although my location was more correct
You said that you weren’t going to move any of the old wayspots, so I did not mention that could happen. You spoke about cells in your original post, so I though you understood them.
Gyms are based on the bigger L14 cells, so moving it into another L14 reset its status. As soon as you get an accepted Wayspot in the L14 with this one, you will get a gym again. I would submit the picnic table we talked about before the stuff at the other street over, so that either the playground or the picnic area will become a gym in that L14.
Making a note that the current location for Haywood Glen Playground is 35.819090,-78.463790 which looks like an accurate position for the Playground, but I would have put it at an entrance instead of on the equipment. It is better than at the street where it was.
Forgot to address this. Yes, they should have had their Pokemon return when the gym changed status.
It looks like you now have 2 active gyms on Mint Circle because of this move, so you will end up with more gyms when you get another pokestop in the L14 the playground was moved to. So not only was this a good move to correct an inaccurate location, you are going to end up with more gyms eventually.
Thank you! I researched a little bit about cells but apparently not enough I wasn’t thinking about moving it, but I was at the pool with my kids and they were “mommy mommy please do it so we have another Pokestop here at the pool” and then I ended up doing it.
The reason why I didn’t put where tou recommended is because actually the HOA moved the pic nic tables closer to the playground; they are not where you saw on street view (i think is not updated yet). They are actually close to where you suggested to put the Playground
I’ll keep proposing more Pokestops, lets see what happens. The problem is the other one (at Mint circle as you noted) that became a Gym is in another subdivision, across the main street that connect us. Kinda far.
I submitted the Informational Board for the community as you suggested. Let’s see if it gets approval. I’ll submit the pic nic tables as well, but as I said location is not the same tho.

It wasn’t dumb on your part, it was dumb on my part. I hadn’t suggested a move into a new L14 so I didn’t think to warn you what could happen. I did suggest you look and see if a gate is on the other end, but since you said you were going to leave it, I dropped that line of thought. I am glad that the playground is away from the street now, and hope it or another one becomes a gym nearby soon. It only takes 2 in an L14 to get to the first gym.
Now that you have updated the location of the playground, you can add an updated photo if you want to, then you can get the photo promoted to be the cover by giving it thumbs. The photos that look best in all aspects of pogo are cropped square, so I will often submit playgrounds with the photo centered on the playground and cropped like this.
You can thumb a photo from the wayfarer map, the pokestop or gym, or a postcard from the pokestop or gym. All three photos on the playground wayspot currently have 2 thumbs on them, so you would need to thumb the new photo yourself and get two other friends to thumb it to get it to change to the main wayspot photo.
I think adding new and improved photos is fun. And sometimes they will be automatically accepted right away, which is really cool. (No worries if it isn’t auto accepted though.)
FYI as you mentioned the address. The address given is actually computer generated and means nothing; what’s actually important is the coordinates.
For example, I have two wayspots in my neighborhood that have generated addresses on different streets than their actual address (both buildings are on corners), but the coordinates are correct.
