Wayspot Title: Altınsoy AVM
Location: Soma, Manisa, Türkiye
Hello Niantic Wayfarer Team,
I previously requested the removal of this Wayspot via the in-game reporting tool, but the request was rejected.
As seen in the attached photo, this place is registered on Google Maps as “Altınsoy Market”. Although the shopkeeper printed “AVM” on the sign, it is clearly just a small, ground-floor neighborhood grocery store with ice cream freezers outside, not a shopping mall.
It is a Generic Business and does not meet Wayfarer criteria. Please remove it from the map.
Thank you.
There is nothing fundamentally wrong about the waypoint.
While it probably shouldn’t have gotten through reviews, I doubt that it will reach the threshold for removal criteria.
The main issue here is abuse and fake eligibility. The submitter intentionally used the title “Altınsoy AVM” (shopping mall) to bypass review filters and deceive reviewers, even though it is just a ground-floor grocery store.
Niantic explicitly states that manipulative or misleading nominations that bypass criteria should not remain in the network. A standard supermarket disguised as a shopping mall should not be rewarded with an active Gym.
Well, we shall see what staff say, but it seems to me that it was the shopkeeper who was a little imaginative with the truth and the submitter has copied the name from the shop.
There’s no rule for that!
Hey @ytaras000 ,
This Wayspot doesn’t meet our criteria for removal at this time.
Thanks,
