Why was my nomination rejected? Was it just my wording? I can change that. Or something in the photo? Any feedback would be extremely helpful besides “you failed Niantic’s automatic criteria” - not helpful. As with all my submissions, I am very careful I am meeting all criteria.
Please provide:
- A screenshot of your nomination, including rejection reasons if it has already been rejected.
- Include the title, description, both photos, and supplemental information
- Copy and paste the title, description and supplemental so others can translate them
Title: “Open field, beautiful view of lake and mountains”
Description: “Open field; beautiful view of Utah lake and mountains. Short walk from Pelican Bay marina.”
Supplemental info: “Great to encourage walking and enjoying the beautiful scenery to combat depression and anxiety. Provides a useful mid- or end-point for Routes, etc. to encourage more walking.”
If the reference to countering depression and anxiety is taboo, I could easily remove that. Or else what is the problem?
- If you feel comfortable please share the location, as it is helpful (i.e. hidden duplicates), but you can mask it if you wish.

I don’t understand this nomination. It seems like a random spot anchored visually by generic road signs? Maybe posting the full photos would help. I don’t see anything making this a designated spot to enjoy the view or encouraging folks to cross the field.
Street View doesn’t extend here, but this just appears to be where they have stopped construction for now. Not a destination.
In the supporting section, you say why this would be good for PokemonGo. That is not relevant for a Wayspot nomination. (You do say that you believe it is good for exercise, which is one of the eligibility criteria, so that is a good point to make there.)

Your screenshot shows “Appeal pending”. If staff reject this, too, they leave a “Niantic note” which may provide more guidance for you.
It doesn’t matter what photo and text you use, as you will have very little chance of this location becoming a wayspot. It simply doesn’t meet criteria. It is not a trailhead, simply the end of a sidewalk. It’s a generic location.
It is unlikely you will get any rejection from Scopely other than it is not distinct and doesn’t meet criteria.
