So there’s a S17 cell with 2 gym on it. How is this possible? This is the first gym 14.860362, 120.80689, 14.860390, 120.806899 this the second one.
Was it manipulated by a single player? People on our community is quite dumbfounded with this, we just know basic stuff on wayfarer. 1 gym = 1 cell only basis. Help us with this thank you.

There used to be a way to abuse location edits to get 2 active wayspots in to 1 L17 Cell. With the age of these I get that is what has happened.
It “should not” happen now and Scopely have re-calculated areas when they come across them but it seems to be a bit hit and miss if / when it will happen.

I haven’t checked the co-ords, but am wondering if one of the gyms is a sponsored gym?
Both appeared for me without using the “Import Sponsored” from the tools…

These have photos from 2014 and 2017. That was before the cell would be recalculated when a Wayspot (portal then) was edited. It should not happen today, but I also have examples near me where there are two Pokemon Go locations in the same L17 S2 cell.
This looks like an awkward situation for gameplay. Are you trying to do something about this?
If the move is made, I would guess that you could either end up with a little more separation for the gyms, or the cell being recalculated this time, and the gym disappearing. I don’t know. If it did disappear, another Pokestop should be promoted to gym status based on the number of Pokestop eligible Wayspots in the L14.
Hmmm I should try edit location on its right placement(tablet), when I pass by. If one of them got remove as gym, community won’t be mad eitherway. The pokestop that might be promoted as gym, maybe will spawn on better area, for better community experience. I’m just really confused on how. Thanks.

I noticed your post regarding multiple gyms sharing the same S17 cell. I am very curious about your situation: what types of Points of Interest are clustered there, how old are the nominations, and is this happening in multiple places? Within my area, I’ve observed overlapping pins where council- or community-based signs coexist. In one instance, a nomination this year moved from an L14 cell into an adjacent one via map sync, sharing an S17 cell with a five-year-old stop. In another case, a five-year-old park name sign was relocated via player edit to its correct location, but a new nomination was approved five days prior and active in game for three plus days, resulting in both being active in the same cell. If you are not sure on any of the information, it is okay; hopefully a Wayfarer worker or member can explain it.
I think we have already explained the situation. Staff do not acknowledge S2 cell algorithms that the community has discovered.

Each game has its own set of criteria that determine whether a Wayspot is an appropriate fit for that Scopely Explore game. This process is completely automated and free of any manual control.
The games themselves decide which Wayspot goes live on the gameboard and this process is outside the scope of Wayfarer.
