Accepted PokéStop seen in-game, disappeared within 24h

Hello. My Wayfarer submission, nominated Oct 24, was accepted Oct 29 and I saw it in-game Oct 30. In less than a day after it appeared, in spite of adhering to the Wayfarer criteria, it got removed off the Wayfarer and Pokémon GO maps.

  • Wayspot Title: Totem Pizza Mario

  • Location (lat/lon): 44.111787, 28.553310

  • City: Cumpăna, jud. Constanța

  • Country: Romania

  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email: haven’t received one, but I attached the one I received upon getting my nomination accepted.

  • Additional Information: the pizzeria totem is a recognizable structure, and it is accessible for pedestrians from the sidewalks.

Hello and Welcome,

Personally I don’t see how an advertisement for a Pizza place meets criteria.

As the Pizza place seems to have “Eat In” facilities that may be eligible.

Good Luck

not even if it’s this big of a structure, with a directional arrow and everything? i’ve seen local players get similar structures like this allowed without a problem, and since this totem exists for more than 10 years, i feel like it can be eligible

additionally, the pizzeria doesn’t have anything original besides that totem, so that’s why i’m here instead… i also don’t get the logic of getting something approved just for it to disappear without any notice

IMO, It does not meet any of the big 3 criteria, Social, Exercise or Explore.

Exercise is definitely a No, Social and Explore could happen at the Restaurant but not at the sign.

You would not take someone from out of town to see the sign?

This was approved as a Wayspot probably by other reviewers. Some reviewers do not understand criteria and some work on “Accept any spot”. If this comes to the attention of Staff they can then make a decision whether it should have been accepted in the 1st place.

Please Note: If you decide to nominate the Restaurant these can be tricky to get accepted in some areas but they are usually accepted by staff after an appeal.

Good Luck

Welcome to the forum!

Please note that anyone here who could make an official decision will have a user name that begins with “ScopelyExp”. Anyone else who responds is bringing up issues for your appeal.

I am not clear how this was submitted. As a directional sign, it would not be anything notable. But as a sign for the pizza place, it could be eligible to represent that? Having been accepted, I am surprised it was removed.

That would not be a “rejection”. If it was accepted and later removed, those are two separate things. And we are not notified about removals.

Wayspot acceptance after community review does not automatically mean the wayspot is eligible. It only means that the reviewers accepted it (on average). If an ineligible wayspot gets reported, Scopely Explore will usually remove it. This exists, but is clearly not meeting criteria.

It’s a directional sign, pointing towards a restaurant that is down a side road. The restaurant is not here, so this wouldn’t work as a proxy for the restaurant itself.

The restaurant is in this cluster of buildings. Seems like it is the only sign to represent the place to me. I would consider it IF submitted to represent the restaurant. Not as a directional sign.

I think it’s just too far away. It looks either like an attempt to get two wayspots for this restaurant or get the wayspot at a place you can spin without having to divert down the side road.

The restaurant itself is highly eligible, based on this photo someone uploaded to google maps:

i would’ve submitted the restaurant in question if it didn’t already have a power spot…

however i know it’s a stretch and that’s completely fine if nothing happens. i definitely don’t lack new wayspot potential to nominate in that area, but one extra would’ve been cool

Power spots are not (usually) an issue when subbing. Most of these were pulled through when Dynamaxes were launched and they are not waystops.

The rule is, if it doesn’t show up as a duplicate when subbing, you should be good to go.

I would try to submit the restaurant as that power spot may be an import which won’t actually block your submission.

It is different if there was already a wayspot in the same cell and that power spot was community contributed but became a power spot because it met the density rules for inclusion in pogo.

If that is the the case, then it should show with a picture as soon as you try to submit it because if it was community contributed, they probably took photos and put a description the same as you would of you were submitting something.

I just check the scopely map and it is not showing which I think means it is an import. I can’t see the cells but on that basis I would def submit the restaurant itself and see what happens, at worst it will get flagged as a duplicate, obviously that is based on it being accurately located.

The black marker is where it is about where you posted above.

i understand. thank you all for the patience—i didn’t play during the time the dynamax gimmick was added  i’ll be back with the pizzeria nomination

Cămin Cultural could be eligible too, although it may in the same L17 cell as Pizza Mario or Plăcuță memorială 2013.

A little further away there’s Ema Alexia Gym.

Since this has changed to a nomination support issue I small move it to that area.

Good luck with restaurant submission.
